you might want to study what socialism is. Paying folks based on merit ain’t socialism. Paying an 18 year old who’s never played a single down in college is supremely ridicoulous.
I’m with you btw in opposing true socialism. 😊
limiting what free people can make sure sounds bad to me whatever you wanna call it. If foreign born teenagers can make millions playing sports why do you want to limit American teenagers?!?!?
Does Georgia just have bad luck with QBs in general in the Smart era? I mean, besides Bennett?
@MontanaDawg The jury is still out on how good Manning is. Does he have the tools? Sure. Could he be a headcase? Perhaps. Time will tell.
So, let’s destroy all remnants of the college amateur game and turn it into a buy-athalon for the sake of greedy non-college educated money hungry 18 year olds and ultra wealthy alum who aren’t able to buy limited NFL franchises…
Oh, so that you know it’s me…vote down. No socialist anonymity here…you’re welcome.
capitalism for me, socialism for thee
GEEEZZ…..the angst, the gnashing of teeth, the despair….is there any hope for The Dawgs???? Conner, you are the hands down winner of this months "Debbie Downer"……"Smart wants players who ultimately want to play for Georgia."…..of which we currently have 5…..5 QB's that could start or at the very least be the #2 in most D-1 programs in America….Pugs, Monty, Hezekiah, The Bev and yes Colter Ginn….all that's missing is "Team Chemistry"…ie: Practice and game time with the ones…there can ONLY be ONE ALPHA….The Lead Sled Dawg and his name is Gunner!
BigDawg61…..you punched the booger square in the nose…"I remember similar angst when Manning chose Texas....and, Raiola chose Nebraska. Where are they now?"…..GO DAWGS, SIC'EM!
Watching Beijing in the news this past week found it odd how peaceful, clean and unified everyone was…no blacks, no whites, no reds, no browns, just a happy social collective of yellow.
It would be great if we stopped talking about the QB's we lose and the ones that we end up signing. They are all gone so why keep bringing them up? There is no point, and it is just a rabbit hole that does no one any good. Especially the team and the QB room. Chill, Connor, chill.
Jared Custis was not starting for Georgia right after Stockton graduated anyway. There’s 2-3 very competent and talented QBs waiting when Stockton leaves which is more of the reason why the QBs are not signing here. I know what Custis is thinking bc he is 18, naive, and surrounded by yes people. He is thinking I am 3 foot taller and a 100 pounds heavier then Diego Pavia and I am faster then him so this is not gonna be a tough transition but he is in for a rude awakening. Custis gonna get that big ole melon head clapped when he comes to Athens. He’s gonna wish he was on the drama team.
Whenever a school has a guy that brings them into the spotlight like Pavia did. everyone always thinks the next guy is gonna be even better. it’s rarely the case especially if it’s a team that was helping the conferences GPA. Pavia was a dawg and a gamer and should have stayed off camera and off social media. 6’3” 230 is a lot bigger target than 5’9” 190. Once he gets tuned up by the defense will see what he’s got. He is starting to remind me of Ricky Vaughn in Major League 2.
i think the physical tools of Curtis far surpass what we currently have on the roster at backup. Has the arm that Pugs has but has touch. Can be a little mobile. If he got the playbook and line checks down there’s definitely a world where he jumped the line in 2027. Alas, we will never know now.
Imo....you have to set limits in the entertainment business...to keep everybody on planet Earth.
Afterall.…they aren't designing, manufacturing, producing or selling anything that would dictate....worth or value that could be quantified, divided and disbursed to employees according to contribution. Capitalism.
imo....Democratic Capitalism Works like a wagonwheel wipin' your butt...never ends...only conforms and shifts according to supply and demand. Everybody benefits according to contribution.
The only investments in CFB, come from voluntary monetary contributions, entertainment contracts and endowments. Hardly sustainable, without requiring taxpayer money to subsidize...an already subsidized Institution.
Come to think of it....Classrooms and Labs at the Universities actually "produce, manufacture, design and build" material that has a monetary value and universal demand. Where is their Compensation?
Tuition keeps going up whether they make money or lose money. How does that work. Universities are using Students as compliant slaves to generate revenue. Where is that money going? Lol...corruption and grift have become the new game. And, I ain't buyin' it.
All taxpayers MUST contribute ti these programs, regardless of their disdain for football...or sports in general. Therefore....all Taxpayers should have a say.
That's what CONGRESS is for....and they're just a bunch of meat heads, usually with the wrong finger in the wind. And, it's usually the middle one.
Like the recent Girl's Track & Field Meet in California....that had two winners. A girl.…and a boy that thinks he's a girl. How do you think that poor girl felt?. Congress....couldn't give 2 craps!
I'm tellin' ya....WE have to DEMAND BETTER, from the people we send to Washington. CFB has created a Socialist environment...and we're footing the bill. The NFL is about to have a rude-ass awakening....with their "Streaming Conspiracy" to jack more mullah out of Fans.
Just sayin'... @Kasey. I agree. Lol
Not only has Curtis not played a down yet, he has not won the starting job yet either. I am making early plans to be at the Vandy game just in case he is. I want to see that red meat thrown to the wolf pack that the Dawgs defense is going to be back to being in 2026. There are two very capable quarterbacks on UGA's roster in Millender and Beaver. Both were impressive at G Day. I think Kirby would be smart to begin getting both of those guy meaningful second team reps. Pugs ain't it guys. If Jayden Wade wants to be a Georgia Bulldog then so be it but Kirby does not need to get in a bidding war for him either IMO. The media is always harping. The media is always tryng to come up with a new way to make folks believe that UGA is giving up ground. I actually believe that Georgia is going to look a lot more grown up and dominant in the trenches this year, and that will make the offenses and the defenses look easier. The defense will give Gunner field position like Bennett had in 2021 and 2022.
