Grant has done well but UC was good before he took over.
Honestly I'd have to judge the man based on interviews and other factors because his record isn't unique enough to convince me he's the guy.
I really don't see a can't miss candidate based on their accomplishments.
It's going to take good judgement to pick the right man for the job.

Sam Mitchell is the best choice! He has the pedigree in the NBA as a player and coach. He was Coach of the year in the NBA! He is available and would love to take the job. Sam will put more 5-Star players at Georgia than has ever been recruited on one team. And Sam is very close with Shaq, which would give him an inside track with Shaq's son!!!!!

Isn't Shaq's son going to UCLA?

Goodness, @WesHarrison . Someone took their pre-workout and checked the forums before working out.

Good choice Jbh3rd. Grant is a terrific young coach. CofC has a good program, but it had hit some down years before he got there.

Let me get this straight...y'all were ragging on UGA baseball for getting swept by CofC in baseball (a sport where they are actually decent) but you want UGA basektball to hire a head coach from CofC...something doesn't add up here.

Totally different situations. A smaller school can have a great coach who is then hired by a “major” program.

But not totally different, because smaller schools actually have a better shot at being good at baseball than they do at basketball AND we all know that being a good coach at a smaller school does not mean you will be good at a bigger school.

Maybe Mitchel is the guy but other than Larry Brown I can't think of a hugely successful HC in both The NBA and college BB.
Well, The Celtics HC is building a very good NBA career after taking Butler to the finals.
