Coach Kay? More like Coach Cray
I am seriously beginning to wonder if the problem with Evans is more gray than we know and if the pettiness of the coach as you said just simply isn't helping Evans' maturity process.
Guys...please stop falling for these kids' trolling. They're having fun. Either read this board and believe the information or stop posting every little thing that would make an insecure person freak out. It's almost embarrassing. Wait...no, it is embarrassing. Scroll back and see why the apple eater was posted and let that put it to rest for you.
If true, their coaches are absolutely ridiculous. Team first applies to coaching as well. A phone? Suspend the kid over a phone? Who caught the attitude first? The coach or the kid? Sounds like petty nonsense.
Seriously. Evans' maturity issue might not even be as bad as reported. His HS coaches aren't helping
THIS! 💯
If it’s a team rule and all the other kids have up their phone, then Zach should have too. I have a feeling he’s just over that coaching staff.
With that said, he’s going to have to learn to respect authority. He may not agree with something, but the coach is in authority over him. There are going to be times where you just have to do what is asked of you.
247 confirming the phone check as the issue behind sitting out today
Seems as though they’re all having fun...
I had this slightly troubling thought yesterday. If we keep putting together these classes and don’t win the big one, we may be seen like the 80’s and 90’s FSU teams. Consistently top 5, but almost always a bridesmaid. I can think of worse outcomes, but I always thought those Bowden teams could’ve won 5 or 6 nattys.
That twitter handle is known as being full of ****.
Listen, I don't know what happened. On its face, suspending a kid in the playoffs over a phone sounds petty. If its worse, then I agree. There is history here and I'm not so sure some of this isn't on the coaches as well. Word is they are big Aggie guys. What do you think will be their attitude towards Zach in light of the signing buzz?
Nevertheless, I don't know what happened. I agree that authority must be respected. But I'm also a firm believer in authority must also respect. Without me being there, I have no idea who's in the right. My opinion was based solely on the face of the reason per the post.
Edit: per SoFL_Dawg coaches aren't aggie fans. Like a severability clause - the rest remains.
He needs to get out of there and to their credit, he and his family know it. Seems they respect Dell and Kirby to mold him and teach discipline needed.
Is there any indication any of his HS coaches or community “reps” were in line for any jobs at any other schools. Sure seems that way.
Oh I’m not disagreeing with you. I’m sure the coaches have a short fuse with all things Evans related. Probably aren’t many, if any, adults in that program right now.
Only statement I’m making is Evans might have some issues with authority (as most teenage guys do). But he’s going to have to check that some at the next level.
I don’t want to make it sound like Evans was in the right here, but taking phones away the night before is a dumbass rule for kids that are 16-18 years old.
