Lots of talent even in 3 and 4 a in Florida . Very good teams .
Watched a Class A team, Port Saint Joe in the playoffs about 3 years ago. They had about 325 students 9-12 grade, 27 players on team. Trey Sanders was the 5th best player on that team. Watched with a Ga. HS coach from a AAAAAA school. He admitted: "They would give us all we want"
At the time that we got Azeez, BJ was seen as the better prospect of the two brothers. Now that Azeez is lighting it up, we are not as high on BJ. It would seem that the opposite would be true. Because Azeez has proven himself at UGA, we should be more focused on BJ. Getting the entire family has worked for the Dawgs in the past (Baileys).
Don't mean to get too far off topic but the Fighting Sharks are the pride of Port St Joe. Won quite a few state championships with two recently in 2005 & 2014. I'm just down the hwy from them so when I need a little HSF I do the 30 min ride to St Joe to catch one of their home games.
I was in PSJ to see my dentist the day Sanders committed to Bama. More than a few locals strongly felt he would have been better off at FSU. Lot of interest to see how that plays out.
I still think we get BJ. Much love to SoFL and the other prognosticators, but they can't be right 100% of the time, and I can't imagine BJ is that far down the list. It will mean some misses, like Raym was, but he could get the 24th spot.
We already have that spot filled there isn’t a chance for a miss as Sherman has it occupied.
Just in the last week, out of the blue, we're talking about room for a BPA and a spot for a 4th WR that nobody expected. That's all I'm saying - we get down to the wire, and we think we've got every spot filled, but we're saving one or two for elite prospects like Burch, and we miss - do we take a highly regarded 3-star to fill that last position need, or do we bring on BJ?
Last season we thought we were done, and then found room for Seither and Bennett to fill needs. BJ is a guy who could commit somewhere else, but flip on signing day to fill an extra spot.
This guy is just going to be too hard to bring in. He knows about all the Sunday talent at OLB for UGA.
Needs to find his own way. Very talented guy, though. Got a LOT of respect for BJ Ojulari.
In @SoFL_Dawg and @JeffSentell I trust. We all should...
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't think you pass on guys like BJ. I don't care how much talent is in the OLB group, you get this guy and watch him beat out older players. I certainly want Sherman. I don't think you take BJ over him. I'm just of the opinion that he's going to be better than some current players in that spot. By BJ's junior year, we'll wish he was on our roster.
if you add you have to takeaway (assume there won’t be another miss). Who do you subtract?
The 4th wr
yeah, still not seeing a lot of top end talent in the 2020 WR class. Would hate to pass on BJ for some of these borderline 4 star receiver types after just adding Pickens and Blaylock in 2019 class.
Take 25.
You dont consider the 6th best WR (fringe 5star) top talent ? Tough crowd.
Its been said, J Robinson was the number 1 WR on the board by the staff. Id say they know what they are doing there and what they are looking for.
