I believe so yes. Milton fits our system better. Milton > Sanders. Milton ~ Emery. The vision and balance are exceptional for his size. His ability to jump cut at the line, consistently has to display that on his junior tape (making moves in backfield because of poor OL play), and then explode down field looks like Gurley. He’s not as explosive through the hole, yet. Gurley also has better top end speed but I do believe Milton will be a 4.5 guy.
Watch the below links. 1 is sophomore year where he looked more explosive and simply got to hit the hole (which he’ll be doing here).
Junior year we see more vision as he has to make a cut and bounce or hit a secondary window because of poor OL play.
All I know is that the skill set that Milton brings is ideal for UGA style of play. He is direct when needed and patient when appropriate. Evans is a game changer but as mentioned earlier has a tendency to run laterally too much for SEC play. Not saying I don't want Evans just that I feel Milton is/was key to get for a pro-style offense. If you look back at Sony's Ga career in the early days he didn't recognize the need to sometimes bulldoze his way forward. In his last 2 years he was much more physical when needed without looking for the gaps to exploit.
Recruits sometimes make a sport of misdirection, I hope it means something but I'm not convinced.
My favorite line from reading the Florida Board on Milton has to be, "they still cant beat UF (even though they beat us 2 times in a row)."
Like what does that even mean? That's some classic UF logic right there. #rentfree
It’s a joke that went over your head
Dude looks like he could be in an Aaron Donald mold. 300 DT and ripped - now if he could play to a tenth of what Aaron Donald is then woahhhhhhh
He's trolling his own fanbase.
This is why they meltdown so severely during the season - they delude themselves into a frenzy - then get beat horribly and dont understand what happened when anyone looking objectively saw it coming. UF fans are a special breed of delusional my gawd - the one guy referring to uga doing nothing on the field is as bad as it gets - how is a sec champ, rose bowl champ, OT in the natty, another SEC champ game against a team dubbed an all time great mid season doing nothing on the field - it makes me wonder how delusional ppl like that are in other aspects of their lives - guy needs to see a mental health professional fr fr

Kendall Milton, a five-star prospect on the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, was the top-ranked running back to compete in Monday's workout and showed why. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound reported a 4.59-second 40-yard dash during testing, then assembled one of the better performances against a strong linebacker corps in "Cat-and-Mouse" 1-on1's. Perhaps his best rep in that portion of Monday's workouts came when he spun past four-star linebacker Noah Sewell for a 10-yard win in Cat-and-Mouse. Sewell was consistently good against the event's backs in virtually all of his other reps. Running back reps were limited in pass-catching 1-on-1's, but Milton got loose on the rail and almost ran down an overthrow for what would have been quite an impressive play.
Pretty sure Tank had a 4.5_ (not sure where it fell in the 4.5's, just that he had a goal and met it).
Evans probably also a 4.5 dude but the difference between Evans & Tank is agility/cutting speed. Tank has a 4.25 shuttle time, Evans is closer to a 3.8 IIRC? Jeff had a post on it a while back.
Think it is a matter of football speed versus timed speed. He told me he never trained for 40s. But was able to be very productive in tough South Florida speed.
He even returned punts. Says something about his speed being more than serviceable there. It also says a lot about his wiggle.
Had an older brother that got picked (DL) by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL Draft. Another brother signed as a RB with Notre Dame But has since transferred. Comes from a family of athletes. Seen as best of the bunch.
Try to set the horizon of expectation here as the nation’s No. 11 RB coming in. He will be as good as anybody else’s best RB in the SEC except for maybe at Alabama and LSU.
McIntosh will likely meet those. Especially behind "The Wall."
So as not to jinx anything, this is purely conjecture but what would it realistically take for us to have a path to #1?
Obviously, passing Clemson would require us hitting on our top remaining targets like Evans, Burch, Ringo, Smith, SVP, and Sewell and probably flipping someone like Dexter but would that be enough? Or are we talking about potentially needing to upgrade one of our lower ranked guys?
In any case, in a class where we have to bear the lead weight (from a recruiting rankings standpoint) of taking a kicker, just the fact that it's in the realm of possibility is already a significant accomplishment.
Edit: forgot about Gilbert and Washington, we really have a lot of irons in the fire.
I'm sure you get it all the time, but thanks so much for your contributions to DawgNation Jeff!
As always, you deliver some grounded insights that still leave us all pretty freaking excited. I'm just stoked to hear all the buzz that Kenny's generating early in what is already a stacked RB room.
Then to pile on with Milton and whichever stud joins him in this class... apparently there are no brakes on this train right now.
😂
If you take a step back, it just makes you appreciate how good Kirby is at hiring guys - whether it's original staff or additions and changes made along the way... Pittman and Dell just decimating the recruiting trail... About to find out how Coley has grown as a playcaller. Lanning and Schumann all grownsed up into co-DCs... Todd Hartley seems like he may be operating on a different CSP like level for TE... Tray Scott hopefully showing signs of blossoming. Hankton showing he knows how to get the thing done. And Fountain apparently instrumental in some of those DL recruitments among others. Firing on all cylinders for sure.
@Denmen185 enters stage left
Thanks for those details. Not trying to temper the hype at all but I did wonder in watching his highlights about his top end speed. The vision and balance look to be outstanding. I was wondering how he will do trying to get the corner in the SEC to turn 7-8 yd run into a 40+ yd run. It could be the video or maybe he was slightly dinged up but that next level burst in the open field didn't seem to quite be there. Love that he's a Dawg, though, and if Dell made him a priority that's good enough for me.
