Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I go DW
I may just be more optimistic than some, but here's my take on the Evan's stuff: don't sell your stock just yet. This sort of buzz typically happens when a recruit visits one of their top schools. Does anyone remember all the buzz about Kendall when he went on his Ohio State visit? Ohio State had half the country thinking he was surely going there, and yet, it feels like he was a dawg the whole time. All this TAMU buzz around Evans could be similar to that situation: an aggressive play by the opposition to gain some ground. Stay the course my friends. Go Dawgs.
I’m not convinced he’s Aggie-bound either. Things we know from his own social media:
Fact is that with the loss to Auburn, TAM has cemented their status as the best of the also-rans in the SEC West behind Alabama, Auburn & LSU. They’re like the Mizzou of the East: capable of beating anyone on any given day but not good or consistent enough at a chance to get to the conference championship. He’ll see TAM lose to Bama in a couple of weeks and then lose back to back against UGA and LSU. Heck - Miss St might even upset TAM.
He’ll then see some combo of Bama/Auburn/LSU vs Georgia in Atlanta and realize that he can either:
As such - unless LSU was his other finalist (of his final 2), I still like UGA’s chances.
WORST case - even if he signed with TAM in the few weeks, I think a strong UGA November and a loss or two by Fisher would be enough to flip him.
(all this assumes the staff still wants him, there are no other issues with his North Shore coaches, etc)
Well this also assumes that a major recruiting tool for him is winning. Of course nobody likes to lose but there's so many other motivating factors that go into recruiting.
No doubt...winning may not be #1 on the criteria list for all these guys but the prospect of not winning - and all the coverage, praise and trappings that go with being in the national spotlight - can become a big motivator if a program appears to be going in the wrong direction all of a sudden.
Ironically, texdawgs quote wont go away but I believe it was in regards to this same topic I’m responding to. Why are wins and losses being downplayed so much recently. I feel it’s indicative to iron sharpens iron / additional resources / quality coaching / NFL networks. Not that TAMU is short of any of that but they are playing 4th or 5th fiddle right now. I’m all for emphasis on family and proximity, but man I really hate losing lol. In order to stay somewhat on topic: What else would keep Evans from being a Dawg during these tough decisions? @texdawg you know this process well enough..
