Croatia has 4 million - almost all home grown Croats (a couple from Croatian families in other European countries) on their team. They do have four former refugees - FROM CROATIA.

France has 16 recent immigrants out of 23 - typical French names like Mbappe, Pogba, Sidibe, Kante, Dembele, Hernandez, Umtiti, Kempembe, Nzonzi, Fekir, let's just say they or recruit, grant visas speed. Of course, Russia had a Fernandes that wasn't a citizen at the time of the last Eurocup.

At the bar I watched part of the game at, I did. Price a bunch of black guys on the French soccer team. I actually made a comment “not many black guys in France, except on the soccer team...”. There was a guy there who is apparently really liberal, and he launches into a story about how a bunch of blacks moved to France after World War 2 from America, because they noticed how the French don’t racialist and treat people poorly etcetera... When he was done everyone listening just nodded their head at the guy and went off doing other stuff... I figured he was making it up. I just looked on Wikipedia. 90% of France is French-born. They estimate that only like 4% of the French population is black...

Now that you point it out, you could tell something was up just watching the game... I remember watching it thinking, “is that what a Frenchmen looks like?” But I didn’t want to say anything after having had to listen to that **** blacks in WW2 story.

Don't know what liberal has to do with it, but the guy wasn't exactly wrong. Thought this might have been false, but I found this.

Liberal has to do with it because the left is heavily invested in identity politics and calling as much as they can find racism. If you watch CNN, they’ll actually occasionally talk about how they’ve decided racism has a much broader meaning these days than it used to. Plus, I didn’t get into some of the other political things the guy said that everybody just ignored.

That article gives little in the way of specifics. But what it’s talking about happened a lot with blacks moving to bigger cities to escape racism. It’s a part of why the Mississippi Blues gave way to the Chicago Blues, Like the first migration it talks about is the Louisiana purchase when the US bought that territory from the French. Go figure, a bunch of Frenchmen moving back to France...

A lot of American soldiers have stayed behind after their involvement in foreign wars have ended. That article just assumes the reason soldiers stayed in France was to escape racism. And I’m sure it was a part of it. But especially giving the numbers of recent immigrants on the French soccer team, it doesn’t really explain what was going on with their soccer team.

Do you think there are any NCAA violations involved in France getting so many "foreign" players to move there. Has Mark Richt lost control of France?

France has a heavy Samoli refugee population. If their team was heavily influenced by black player's then they must just be that good. As far as the article goes I was just showing you he had merrit to his statement. And as the liberal side of things go, there are republicans that see the same thing and have spoken on it. It's not just a left thing, it is an American thing. We have a lot of problems here to fix and racism is the oldest one. If we fix that and stop treating it like it's a political left or right thing then we can move on with other issues a lot easier. But this is not the forum for that. Back to the regularly scheduled conversations, GO DAWGS!

Nobody said the players weren’t any good... They were on a team that just won a World Cup.

It’s weird to me you don’t understand the ~5% of the French population that’s black doesn’t explain the over-representation of blacks on the French soccer team. But like a lot of people who take the left’s political propaganda too seriously, any time anything about race comes up, you want to blame it on America being racist...

France has so many black men on their soccer team today because America was really racist after World War 2, lol...

France has a large population of folks from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. Northern Africans are the largest ethnic group in France. About 6% of the total population is of North African decent.
