    Soccer is one of the few sports in which I think watching women play is more interesting than watching men play. Men's soccer, IMO, is dominated by deutsche bags faking fouls and it working, which is why they all do it and it seriously affects the outcome of games. Women's soccer is about skill and teamwork, making it more fun to watch.

    For reasons why we lag behind in distance running...it some African nations (more than one) running IS the national sport and kids see it as a way to fame and fortune. Here the fame and fortune follow FB, BB, BKB, Golf. I think it is changing, ever so slowly, in the US. Women have far less competition as women's sports in many great soccer countries haven't caught up to men's sports as far as support and social acceptance of competition. I think.

    True, but soccer is the most popular sport in the US as far as people playing it. We should be able to find 20 guys who can beat Trinidad and Tobago. That is absolutely absurd. The MLS is rated as one of the Top 10 professional soccer leagues in the world, but we can’t beat tiny island nations. Doesn’t make sense. We have a massive pool of athletes, the best athletic training facilities on the planet, and the professional opportunities but the national team still sucks.

    I think if the USWNT wins and the Men's team doesn't, they should be paid more than the dudes.
