Another name to get to know...Mason Garcia-Pro Style QB 6’5, 210 (latest height and weight) will be in town this weekend. I never heard of him until Tuesday, buzz is picking up. Couldn’t find his junior stats but here is his tape. 2 sport athlete in football and basketball. Appears to throw accurate ball, good athleticism, throws well on run. ***We should note, QB picture won’t be clear until all these kids throw for staff***. No clear front runners at this time.

When @JeffSentell and Rusty follow someone on the Tweeter, i def take notice.
Yeah he can definitely sling it. Always weary when a highlight film on any player is 1-2 mins long. Just a indicator to this years QB crop, some solid players with elite upside, but probably only 2 guys I would consider elite today, we won’t grab either. A 4 star QB can easily look like a 6 star in our system though. @JeffSentell chime in here...how do you stack these guys up?
Criswell, Ashford, Dixon, Garcia?
I’d like to add M Hornsby / T Gleason / E Garbers to the list along with Criswell, Ashford, Dixon and Garcia. @JeffSentell would love to see your current QB board here too
Carson beck received an offer. 4 star Pro style qb out of mandarin , Jacksonville FL . UF top target
Saw that, and thought it was more of a friendly offer to keep our name in that school. I don’t see the staff putting to much time into his recruitment as it looks like UFs to lose and Miami (due to Enos) being the “backup option”
Led his team to a first ever state title last year . pretty good film . Doubt we have a chance offering this late but we will see!
Is there any chance with Justin Flowe? Heard he was visiting this weekend
There’s always a chance with our staff but this isn’t realistic, no. CU is only SE school that is in it “today”. Hopefully USC (the real one) keeps him on west coast. Dabo is in a very strong spot with 5 of top 10 overall players today.
USC UNDER CLAY HELTON ONLY SIGNS 3 STARS. ITS 5 STARS TRANSFER OUT OR PLAY LIKE 1 STAR TALENTS
Dang bro, you ain’t gotta yell at me lol. You’re probably right, I don’t follow them, but I’m a Helton fan in this situation.
Sorry, wasn't my intention; just inadvertently left caps lock on. Anyway,
Flowe will choose not to be free
To go to USC to experience mediocrity.
If he stays out West,
He'll go to the Pacific Northwest.
Justin is a smart kid,
And he knows at USC he'll be off the grid.
Clay Helton is a repellent
For elite West Coast talent.
And that's the bottom line
So Trojan fans will continue to whine
Until Lynn Swann and Clay walk the plank,
Which, for USC's alumni, will not be breaking the bank.
As long as Lynn & Helton are in Troy, the program will be in misery,
And the Cali kids who can't get into Stanford will far and wide, flee.
Hey! No math and No poetry! Rules are rules. 😊
Tight end Mark Redmanof Newport Beach, California's Corona Del Mar High School, a four-star prospect in his own right, also received the call from Athens."I received a text from Coach [Todd] Hartley earlier in the morning. Later in the day, I hopped on the phone with him," Redman said. "It was a great call and couldn’t have been any better."
For now, the 6-foot-6, 245-pound athlete is keeping his options open.
"I don’t believe California is keeping me here," Redman said. "I believe I can go as far as possible or close by. School wise, I believe it’s pretty equal right now," Redman said. "I don’t think I’m leaning in any way, and I'm just trying to balance it out for now."
Redman is undecided on whether he'll be making a trip to see what they have to offer.
"I feel that Georgia has prioritized me very well up to this point, but currently, I have no plans to visit Athens," he said.
The rising senior is already quite familiar with one aspect Georgia offers, though—conference prestige.
"The SEC is big-time football," he said.
Georgia's national brand is strong, as evidenced by recent comments from participants of Rivals Camps at Los Angeles and Houston, and the staff in Athens is making good use of that by casting a wide net.
Four-star California tight end Jaden Navarrette is one of the latest examples."Things got started with Georgia when a couple of coaches followed me, and then, Coach Todd [Hartley] asked me to give them a call," Navarrette said. "That's when they offered me."
While the nation's No. 170 overall player hasn't had a chance to visit Athens before, he plans to change that.
"I am actually going to go see Georgia soon," Navarrette said. "They'd love to play me at tight end. They said that’s where I can fit best, and Coach Todd said at that position he can turn me into a first round pick and develop me."
Navarrette has also taken notice of the NFL ranks being stocked with SEC talent.
"I know it’s a championship mindset there," Navarrette said. "They are in the SEC. I believe the Pac-12 is kind of going downhill, and the SEC is rising a lot right now. The SEC gets you developed and ready for the next level."
Still, the upcoming visit will need to impress, as Navarrette is looking for more than just national profile.
"At the next level, I’m just looking for the best fit," he said. "I would like to go to a college where I can be comfortable. I don’t go on big names or anything. Right now, it’s pretty much all equal."
The rumor mill is in full swing.
The nation’s top-ranked running back,
Zach Evans, isn’t eager to show his hand when it comes to his recruitment. That doesn’t mean he isn’t open to sharing some information. Both Texas and Texas A&M are doing early work on their offensive line classes in 2020 to intrigue Evans, who has openly stated that he’d like to play behind a dynamic group up front. However, the five-star remains very open to schools outside of Texas and has been in contact with some schools that have yet to put an offer on the table.
Eleven months away from a decision, Evans dispelled all of the buzz connecting him to any one school and provided a clear picture of who is currently in the thick of it for his commitment.
On recent visits: “These recent visits really opened my eyes a bit. Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia and Tennessee, and Tennessee was really an eye opener. I didn’t think there would be much to do out there. The facilities were nice. When I got out there, I enjoyed something new. It opened a big gate. I’m really opening up to all visits and all schools.”
On visit to Georgia: “I was in Athens the week leading up to the Super Bowl and they had two running backs in the Bowl. Sony Michel, it was his first year in the league and he’s already up there. I noticed the history and the tradition.”
On visit to LSU in January: “You know, it’s kind of a bond North Shore has with LSU, some of our players go there, so I got a good feeling going up there, getting to know the tradition of Leonard Fournette, Derrius Guice and running backs like that. It was a good feeling.”
On Texas junior day visit: “It was good. They were talking to me and (teammate and four-star lineman)
Damieon (George), what the plan was for us coming up if we go to Texas, the depth chart and stuff like that.”On Longhorns’ trending for Evans: “If you think I’m going to a school, I’m not. I’ll let you know what schools I’m visiting; don’t assume. Don’t make up lies. Ask me and I’ll tell you. This whole thing is real. I’m not telling you where I’m committing, but I’ll tell you where I’m visiting that week.”
On preference to stay in Texas: “What interests me is these out-of-state schools. I have no problems leaving Texas. If you tell me about the opportunities at a school but I haven’t been presented an offer, it’s a bit unfair. I don’t feel comfortable going to a school I don’t have an offer from. I’m open to staying (in Texas) or leaving, as long as it’s the right fit.”
Biggest factor in the decision: “I’ve got to have that O-line. I have to have one. I don’t care about rankings; I need the best dogs up front hands down. I need the best O-line. A&M is probably in the lead with that right now since they’ve got the best O-line class committed there in Texas.”
The Longhorns have the been the team buzzing the most for the five-star running backs in recent weeks, but Evans was adamant that no team is currently out in front. He did acknowledge that Coach Tom Herman and his staff are doing an excellent job of recruiting talented offensive linemen, which is, of course, the biggest factor in his much-anticipated decision.
While the Tennessee visit certainly grabbed Evans’ attention, it’s difficult to rule out out-of-state schools like Georgia and LSU. Dell McGee is one of the best running back recruiters in the nation and will make Evans a priority in the Class of 2020. LSU has a strong track record of making a splash at North Shore High School, with safety
Eric Monroe and outside linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson as alumnus currently on Coach Ed Orgeron’s roster.Evans sang praise for the Aggies as well but noted that he has not visited College Station since last spring.
Consider LSU, Georgia and Texas as three legitimate contenders for the five-star’s signature next February, and Evans indicated that all three of those schools are recruiting him the hardest at the moment. Also, don’t rule out a school that has not offered yet — like Clemson — to jump into the sweepstakes sooner or later.
