- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Are we in the mix with Kelee Ringo?
@NC_Dawg Not so much at this time. Havnt been crossed off but it seems his feelings were closer to a visit high. (If he comes back, watch out but it looks like TX at this time)
I mean if you look at it, it's not like Georgia is just letting every in-state kid get away. We all just wish we could lock down Murphy. By state rank, UGA has the following commits or prospects we're in heavy for:
#1 Gilbert, #3 B. Jones, #6 Ratledge, #11 Burroughs, #12 Z. Walker, #18 Ojulari, #21 Whitehead #22 Stackhouse, #29 J. Robinson
Murphy would me a miss, no doubt, but some of ya'll are acting like the door is wide open. Lock in Gilbert and you've got 5 of the top 12 players in Georgia and 8 of the top 25 if staff wants them on campus. Other than Murphy, find me a guy high on the board that staff really wants and can't get. You won't find one. This isn't 2018, where the top 13 guys in-state were Top 100 overall. UGA got 7 of those guys, FWIW.
Jaheim Bell- Valdosta. GA
Tons of offers but none from UGA yet. Read the (not so) fine print of his top 10...
Killed it at the Opening recently. @SoFL_Dawg and @CZCashvilleDawg y'all can go ahead and stop me from getting my hopes up if you feel necessary.
@VALDOSTADAWG I saw that top 10 tweet awhile back, has some big names in there.
My thoughts on why no UGA offer.
Listed as the 34th best Ath, bigger targets ? ( Although I can see his rank changing though with that showing.)
4.7 , 40 speed (listed on 247) which would put him in at the TE. 203 weight has him roughly 30-40 lbs behind the TE targets we are looking at.
Also took a player in this “category” last cycle, one they probably project has more upside, in Tongue.

Though I agree keeping in-state pipelines is a priority as the lifeblood of a program. You always have to have the homegrown kid card in your back pocket.
@CZCashvilleDawg
I thought I saw the other day where he clocked a 4.5 at the Opening? I could be wrong.
Could of happened, and 247 just hasn’t updated. If that’s the case, I’d guess the staff has their eyes on guys they perceive to be more natural at the WR position. (Or maybe an offer comes soon, if he camps at UGA over the summer ?)
Clemson is a real threat for Bowman. Florida is in good shape with him right now.
Does UGA have a engineering program? Taking about how Murphy views AUB and CLEM.
From some words within this thread, the academics angle is probably more of a ruse as to why the instate school is not the favorite.
Sucks to see an elite defensive lineman opt elsewhere year after year. Hopefully Travon Walker balls out to create some momentum and change some opinions
@Thelordjohnson Yes they do. Nakobe took his 4.3 GPA to that engineering program at UGA... so I agree with @Midnite_Train about the ruse with the academic angle.
UGA is the #13 public university, Clemson is #24, and awburn is #115 for overall rankings. For engineering it gets flipped, awburn and Clemson are top 60 and UGA is 116. It's going to be hard to pull top level players that are serious about engineering and football away from clemson
Yes. I looked it up for Nakobe Dean's recruitment (for myself)
Maybe Nakobe should host him when he gets back to UGA to help him with that thought process.
The poster I replied to was very vague and yes this year we’re looking good with in-state kids. But the way it was said “we don’t need in-state kids we’re a national brand” like, that’s foolish. What about the next 2018? Building those relationships is key in recruiting it’s been proven. So, yes we’re doing good with the in-state kids but that doesn’t mean we should abandon them in the years to come because there’s a shiney new 5 star in Washington that we can pull in who hasn't played the competition that’s in the state of Georgia.
Disclaimer that’s not a knock on Eason just the closest comparison I could think of.
That was my post. You missed the sarcasm font. I have gone round and round with the number of posters on here about the importance of in-state recruiting. There are several posters on here, including Jeff sentell, who believe that because Georgia has a national brand that instate recruiting is not as important.
@Acrum21 @YaleDawg @FirePlugDawg
The engineering program at UGA what all focuses does it have? I know structural engineering is his main goal. (GT is ranked 3rd).
Don't see any structural engineering.
