Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Not sure how I missed this but May is National BBQ month. There have been numerous threads, posts, recipes, arguments about BBQ on this forum. Not sure what else to say except, maybe, enjoy!!

Going to Texas in a couple weeks. Houston/College Station. Gonna try to partake. Any Texas people got any recs for that neck of the woods?
@texdawg Bueller....Bueller??
@Palm_City_Dawg anyone?
I thought every month was BBQ month.
Hey @Kasey...I'll have some recommendations for you in the next few days. I'm from Dallas, and live in Austin now, but have buddies who attended A&M, and also ones who live in Houston. Keep an eye out!
Thanks for the help!
Wait? People actually go to College Station for things other than football games or taking a sick cow to the vet?
Yea my friend teaches at aTm and she’s getting married
OK @Kasey - here goes.
Haven't had BBQ in College Station/Bryan area before but my Aggie friends speak highly of Fargos.
A little west of College Station is Lockhart, TX. BBQ capital of Texas. 4 outstanding BBQ joints but the two you have to try are Smitty's Market and Blacks. Many say Blacks is the best BBQ in Texas - haven't had all the BBQ but I know Blacks is simply awesome.
I know you didn't mention Austin but I love Franklins BBQ and Saltlick. Saltlick is old and a little touristy - but still outstanding.
I just don't know much about Houston.
Thanks for the 411
@Kasey bro, if you’re ever down in TN and want to get some bbq hit me up. I know a few joints. I get it..everything is bigger in Texas but there is some good bbq around here and it’s not just brisket haha
Next wedding I go to in Tennessee I’ll hit you up
Oh boy.... just got real. Broadway street, beer, bbq, aaaand a future wedding... hoping some bro you know pops the question soon haha.
Blue Moon BBQ, Hearne, Tx. You'll pass by on the way to A&M. Good eats!
noted!
