With Rich Editor the best practice to posting the gif is to copy the gif url (1), paste it in the text field(2), and then hit enter to smart embed the gif(3), and then post (4).
1.)
2.)
3.)
4.)
The only way I ever do is by downloading the pic or gif to my desktop, When I want to drop it into my post, I click on this in the comment box at the bottom.
It drops in all my file and I choose the one I want to open. I choose and click open....
And just like this,,,you get a gif that is not animated.......😂😂
Oh Giphy I find an image I like, click on it, click "media" button, copy "source," and then paste what I've copied into this site's embed/insert media box.
Here's one I like.
I hope I've outlined the steps in a way that makes sense. I've not tried other gif material but suspect it's all much the same.
Give it a shot, gentlemen and ladies.
Go, Dawgs!
Some gifs don't work. I have no idea why not.
GIFs you copy the link/web address for work, GIFs you try to upload from your own documents don’t work.
Thank you
test #2 - Thank you Jim Wallace. That works much better!
got it
Butttttttttttt, animated gifs DID WORK after the upgrade, Only recently have they not worked. So, something happened. Can the happened be unhappened? The embed method is very limiting. Cramping my style. Pleaseeeeeee?
And we’re back. Thanks Jeff.
mine still won't work.
Got it now.......thanks!
I'm basically lost when it comes to linking. It's odd because I've traded stocks online while following 3 stocks at once on screen, I can do factory restores, etc. But cut and paste, etc, etc remains a mystery to me.
