Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

If any team stopped recruiting a RB they wanted because they know Evans is coming to their school, they'll regret that decision in a week. That kid is impossible to predict and I'm not mad at him for it. It's not his job to make it easy on anyone and even if he's doing it on purpose to mess with people, have at it. Messing with people is fun.
Basically, I would never assume or read into anything in regards to Evans. Remember, at one point, his top 5 didn't include TAMU.
No Ringo updates in the last 50 pages? Why does this thread even exist anymore?
Unless "dish on" describes a kewl on-field move, I think it violates the very foundations of college football for a RB to "dish on" anything. Amen.
I agree, I am this close to hopping off the Zach Evans rollercoaster.
Getting kicked off/suspended/disciplined/whatever you want to call it/ off your HS school team is a big enough red flag for me.
Not to say that ZE can't mature, I just am extremely cautious. Especially if football is not a first love
I've tried to ignore much of this Zach Evans discussion because I don't see any benefit in it.
There seems to be two extreme opinions. Those that want to wash their hands with him because of the situation and those that seem the situation isn't a big deal.
It seems like it's just fans being impatient.
Why can't we all just sit back and see how this whole thing plays out. The kid has until February to make a decision.
I never have "inside info" on any players. However, I'm not going to get into it - but I am fairly knowledgeable on this situation.
So much of Zach's recruitment has to do with how he responds to his discipline. My understanding, and I believe @SoFL_Dawg understanding is that UGA, and Dell specifically, is still heavily recruiting Zach. But they need to see what happens in the coming weeks.
Unless there is real development in this story, what good does it do to just throw opinions around when you really don't have the info. And the random CB is not a developing story.
This thing needs to play out. I recommend we all try and be patient and refrain from making irresponsible and uninformed statements.
Off topic alert: stating the obvious but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I’m not trying to tell y’all how to feel but something that puzzles me is the dismissal of kid, up to and including the character assassination of said kid, when there’s smoke he’s not going to choose UGA. When UGA is the clear leader, everyone is all smiles and looking forward to the talent addition. Any smoke that it’s turning, and the kid is basically destined to fail and some of y’all hope they fail? As grown men and women, we should be better. Unless a kid is caught up in the street life, domestic violence against women, or something that adversely affects the brand of our school, everything else just feels over the top to me. We’re trying to convince ourselves that a clearly lesser talent is equal, simply because the greater talent isn’t coming. Your personal feelings don’t make you objectively right. Gilbert is better “today” than DW & Theo. Evans is better than everyone in this class (toss up with B. Robinson). Fields is/was better than anyone we could’ve brought in the 19 & 20 class. Bresee is the best DL in this class.
Doesnt matter if it’s Fields, Gilbert, Evans, Murphy, etc. If we’re the recruiting powerhouse in the nation currently, based on avg. per, shouldn’t we be better about this kind of stuff? Staff wins more of these than we lose guys, and staff goes into other states and wins against the local schools. Sometimes we lose; we lost on Gilbert, Bresee, and Murphy and that’s OK. At least it should be...
I still believe Evans will be a Dawg but maybe we should chill when none of us know the details of what happened behind closed doors. If he signs with us, are y’all going to root for him to fail? we know you won’t. If he doesn’t sign with us, wish him well unless he’s playing against us. I thought we were supposed to be the class of the SEC?
Edit: Tex beat me to this but thanks Tex. I was typing while you were posting.
Thank you. Couldn't have said it better.
🏆️
....but...but..... I read things on the internet that have be true. I’m so confused now. /s
I appreciate the roller-coaster that is recruiting. Some, clearly can't handle it. I hope Tex and SoFl don't stop posting because of a few weak-bellied, emotional types. The rest of us appreciate what y'all contribute.
Agree. My son is 17 and if you haven’t been around a kid in a while, it may skew your position. These kids are just that: kids. Enjoy the recruiting ride, but it’s their life - let them live it and see how it all plays out.
I hope we land Evans.
Him, Zeus, and Emery Jr appear to be clearly better than every other RB in their class. I don't care if Sanders was ranked #1 either...
Next to commit, Sewell, Washington or Walker?
Walker reminds me of Herring a lot. I really like him, but I think he'll have to wait. Is there a spot that is 100% his?
Waiting for the next commit
I've been contributing to the forum since January 2017--the search for reason and logic is like the search for the lost Ark of the Covenant. I hope you are the forum's version of Indiana Jones. I cannot understand why people are quick to judge these kids with no evidence of their character. Zach will be judged by our staff--who has the best possible info on him. If he signs--I'm happy for him and hope for the best. If the staff goes a different way, that's ok too. I'm not going to run a kid down on a forum.
Great point. But I think it's been determined that I'm this forum's version of Hank Hill.
I know
Off the wall prediction here:
Zach Evans is throwing up smoke screens to everybody, because he wants to catch everyone off guard when he commits
He thought he had it set up a couple weeks ago, but he told the wrong person, and the secret got out
Now he's got people throwing up LSU crystal balls, and saying that A&M is the new leader
My prediction is that Evans is next to commit and its sooner rather than later.
Might be in 10 minutes, might be in 3 days, might be in December.
Right now seems like the perfect time to commit, because he has everybody spinning
texdawg, SoFL_Dawg, I think you are both correct. What does it matter what any of these kids (young men) have to say now. At the earliest it only what they put on paper in mid December or later that matters. They commit, decommit and are recruited over by colleges up until National Signing Day. At that time they if they receive paperwork from the university and return the signed document they are commited.
