Which thunder back do you take off the field for Sewell though?
This gives me bad memories of the Charles Grant injury.
Sounds like a great idea but probably unlikely.
Great prospect with off the chart measurables. But will still take everything he has to become a dominant SEC LB.
Plot Twist: We are recruiting Sewell to be the next Brannan Southerland
Sounds more like Quayvon Hicks to me.
The 49ers have used Kyle Juszczyk pretty interestingly. I could see Sewell being able to do some things of that nature. TE/fullback/hback. Special formations, goal line lead blocker. Can we get a Kyle Shanahan staffer to boost our formations next year please?
Nah. JT Wall.
From what I read, his father wants him to go to UGA. He spoke about how all the schools are equal, but football wise UGA is in the SEC and in "the conference" and on "the big stage". I like our chances for sure!
I had the exact same thought. Sewell knows the SEC is the biggest challenge and attack it.
The narrative that he'll go to Oregon because his brother is there is so lazy. First off, his brother is likely going pro and won't be there. Second, he has 3 brothers playing at 3 different schools, so why would anyone think that's a factor for this family?
He will be a Dawg and he and Nakobe will be in the discussion for best ILB combo in UGA history.
Did you know? --> Noah's oldest brother went to Nevada. His second brother followed him.
He kind of felt that would be the place. It didn't work out that way. Coaching changes. Other factors.
So that "follow the family" and "got to back your brother's play" theory has already been road tested by Team Sewell.
Checking back in. Sewell would give flexibility like Wolfe has and just options. Was thinking about this after hearing Theo might go elsewhere and whether we should take Mikey Henderson or not. Sewell seem more explosive than Goede/Fitzpatrick who don’t look like they could be moved around around in backfield much.
Didn’t mean to bring up bad memory. But Sewell appears more elusive and built to run than grant. I don’t think it would be any more than playing special teams with a well design limited package
Enjoy tossing around ideas. Sometimes they actually amount to something. You’re right that we have to keep the main thing the main thing and that is defense. Over time maybe some package would work, but don’t want to hinder development on defense
I agree that it would be fun to see. Heck...he may just be that good
