I know. We can still hope for a four game losing streak though
Maybe we can use him on offense too ? /s 🤷♂️
Right. Whether it helps with Dexter or not, we all love a Florida 4 game losing streak
I know awhile back you project 328ish and we get recruiting is fluid a la Evans, Dexter, Theo, etc.
☝️I wonder who would’ve been projected who’s out. ?
Telling a UGA fan base to stay patient... ?
Yeah can’t prepare for Evans. Some won’t believe it and that’s fine, but if he doesn’t get suspended he’s already a verbal to the Dawgs.
Washington’s situation is one to monitor in similar fashion.
Dexter was always a pitch that his school wasn’t nearly as close as they were making him feel. They validated their pitch to him with their performance on the field this year. Either way it would’ve been Walker or Dexter and the two schools involved would’ve taken one or the other since Stack will remain in the class.
Theo has made 3 schools feel very confident leading into his OV with UM. UGA, Iowa, and PSU all really like where they’re at. Can only speak for chatter I heard on us, but following ND, we had reasons to feel very confident, bullish even. For the longest it was UGA and Iowa, PSU emerged later. 2 months between OV and decision is a long time in the recruiting game. If PSU leads, they closed on production at the position, followed by location. It’s a position for us that has lacked meaningful production for 2+ seasons. Since my source has told me he’s a toss up now, I can no longer project him in class and I didn’t. If he chooses us, it’ll be a huge win.
A. Smith I like where we’re at today. He’s another that was close to pulling the trigger before the rise in rankings. He’s another weighing the system fits: 3 horse race here: UGA/CU & bama. If CU really pushes, on top of him playing with Bowman, that’s why I don’t love where we’re at there.
Defensively, I believe we land every major target we’ve been in on excluding Dexter. Offensively is where the question marks exist. Outside of RB, remaining positions have every reason to wait and see how it plays out.
Hmmm. You like, but don’t love where we’re at with Smith?
Also, your projected number was with only one RB? Are the tea leaves saying we won’t get a 2nd RB in this class?
im guessing by attrition you mean Mathis...
Can’t get this quote to delete, sorry.. But does anyone know what division Stroud plays in high school?? I just looked at his stats, & he’s absolutely shredding teams apart & California is full of talented football players so to see stats like his makes me want him bad. Kid can spin the ball, that’s for sure.
It’s a possibility for sure, missing second RB. My official answer is I don’t know. There’s chatter that it’s Evans or bust. Haven’t gone all in on Chaney is strong indicator, and significant drop off after those too. I’m hearing the pursuit eased up on Lloyd as well. Don’t currently see a in state RB in this class.
So based on #’s, chances of landing 2 QBs and 2 RBs is slim. Doing so takes away from defensive #’s. Walker pops before the flurry of activity we expect in Dec. Sewell likely to do the same. They are both takes. Ringo is priority, Burch is priority (follow Kirby’s visits). BPA leaves 1-2 defensive players...long cut short, don’t see it. We land either both Beck & Stroud, miss on Evans, or we land Evans miss on Stroud (seems most likely considering the two options).
I just think Kirby prioritizes the defensive side of the ball this year; WR, TE, and second QB have been mentioned the most behind scenes in week or so for offense. BS for Zirkel will be a must or someone really good will be left out. They will not all choose UGA, we have some battles left for sure.
My “best guess” of priority driven by “position” needs:
We obviously can’t take everyone here...
My “best guess” based on “Talent” priority:
Within this framework, I would project “today” a close with: Ringo, Washington, Burch, Walker, second TE, Sewell, and Smith (least confident on Smith).
Then one of Stroud, Evans, Manning, etc. as final BPA with a BS for Zirkel.
@SoFL_Dawg
Thanks for the info. Kinda surprised that it’s Evans or bust at this point. I figured we’d go after Chaney, Lloyd or Bigsby if Evans goes elsewhere. Then again, we’ll have Zeus, Cook, McIntosh and Milton. That’s pretty good depth and talent at RB. Considering that depth, I’m good with targeting another position with a big time talent.
I think he’s meaning another Second string QB might be checking out.
Bigsbys style is very similar to Miltons, which overall isnt a bad thing, but if they are looking for different types in a class (which is common to do when taking two) they dont really have separation in terms of style.
If we had missed on Milton, i think Tank was our Thunder Back for the cycle.
I mean if Fromm goes to the NFL, the only guys we have are the mailman and Mathis no? So unless Bennett leaves (doubtful) I presume he means Mathis might be medically retiring.
@SoFL_Dawg ok is this CJ stroud stuff real ? How would beck stick with us if we went hard there. Feels like when Mullen lost a certain now Old Miss WB trying to chase Justin Fields
