Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Does it worry anyone else that Kirby may think he can recruit his way out of the offensive issues? With his emphatically saying that the WRs were why the offense was bad..and even saying that he is responsible for recruiting the kinds of WRs needed.
In fact he said that the difference between LSU and the Dawgs, between Burrow and Jake, was that we didn't have the same personnel. That we ran a lot of the same plays.
He obviously doesn't want to fire Coley and thus far he's just replaced Pittman. I think many of us are a bit skeptical that he's going to make any real changes to the staff now.
Now there's the late emphasis on WRs and offensive players in general but unfortunately this late they're having to scrounge. Pretty sure we'd heard that Burton was kind of a guy we had cooled off on awhile back and now we're offering all sorts.
Is Kirby like a GM who thinks he can change one side of the ball in a draft? If so, has this staff shown the ability as currently made up to suddenly start developing offensive weapons?
So either Burton or Smith I'm guessing
I really hope we didn't process Corey Wren just to whiff on Burton
Question on his ability to catch. Take a guy a tenth of a sec slower in the 40 that already plays the position is what staff felt was a safer bet. Burton, Fleming, Brown all fit this description.
Oh I agree with you but just a question now on if we can sign the guys.
Wonderful contribution to the board, friend
This is great and all until we can’t convert 3rd and short or not being able to punch it in from the goal line ie... the Florida game two years ago.
*disregard, couldn’t delete”*
The 8 month wait is almost over!
we WILL land at least 1 new commit in the next week...
He definitely has his blind spots but I don't think that statement was about protecting Coley it was about protecting Fromm (the difference between Burrow and Fromm goes far beyond the receivers they have). Even if all of the WRs/TEs from 18 came back in 19, I don't think we would be doing what LSU is offensively but at his core Kirby doesn't want to open it. But because this is a recruiting thread, yes it does worry me that it appears we are scrambling at this point to fill the position. If it was guys like Burton or Fleming who are more finished products (or at least less of project), I wouldn't be concerned but if you are bringing in the 19 equivalent of Matt Landers then yes I am worried because in the short term I don't think they will help provide Fromm with the security blanket he needs if he comes back and in the long term there is little evidence that we have been able to develop at that position beyond their initial rating/ranking (probably the inverse is more true).
Has anyone seen any pics/social media from the Ringo home visit?
Saw one Ringo posted from the Texas visit and now this one overnight from the Oregon staff.
Would seem that no post of the UGA visit means one of two things:
A) Ringo is a Dawg and keeping up appearances with Texas and Oregon
B) UGA is out of contention
I’m taking the positive outlook here and guessing “A” but B would really be a bummer at this point
The thread about UGA visitors this weekend continues to state that Ringo is expected to take an official visit this weekend. If we have not already done so, perhaps we can lock up his commitment at that time.
UGA will give Ringo matching socks
Seems to me that Kirby and company are making a necessary “changing of the room” for WR, similar to the CB haul in the 2017 class. Bring in a bunch of guys in order to let the competition rise to the top. We all agree the WR room needs big time upgrades and additions. Speed, hands, and route running. Trust the process, trust the staff, they have not let us down yet!!
Next to commit....Darnell Washington!!!!
GO DAWGS!!!!
Don’t look now but we are now ranked behind Florida...
More. Hurry up and look at the 2020 Rankings. We are behind Florida and you will never see that again this late in another cycle. It's the Haley's Comet of CFB recruiting.
I would also add that Holyfield ran faster in pads than what his 40 time showed. Maybe this kid does too.
