Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Yeah I’m not sure on RB. It’s on the table as BPA but we have to state the obvious at this point. Unless there is a significant surprise, remaining current names do not fit the elite moniker. Can they push the depth chart?
As far as the offense, I don’t think we’ve seen a Coley offense yet. Beck will be a better fit in the offense. Mathis is said to have improved accuracy and we’ve seen his athleticism last spring. King is a true DT if we can get in that race. We’ll be fine, may take a step back last year as we’re losing a lot on offense, but we’ll be fine.
Did we ever figure out who the second secret visitor was that Sentell mentioned yesterday
I just really, really, really hope Mathis is cleared to play.
Can Card even play an entire season at 175 lbs? Seriously...
Sinclair would fix that. Kid is a baller imo.
Arian smith - sub 4.4 40 time
jermaine Burton - espn has him at fastest time in testing at 4.43
stack the box all you want... lol
Smith is probably high 4.2. Fastest football player this cycle.
Sure he'll gain weight but he's 6'2" and that's a big canvas with probably not much paint available.
Just gotta eat. At his weight and height, he's got plenty of room on his frame to add weight.
Beck has pocket mobility. I think he moves just as well as Burroughs showed us this year. Enough to be a weapon, not going to run for 75+ in a game like Fields. Beck can also consistently put it 50+ in the air. Our guys who are sub 4.5 speed will get more chances to showcase that speed in stride (looking at Drob here).
Purely based on assignment within a spread offense, a mobile threat puts the defense in conflict. If we run a zone read, and an edge defender (who’s unblocked) doesn’t have his shoulders square to the LOS, leaning towards an RB or QB, Beck will be a threat to keep it and can get around the edge. He’s capable of getting 10 yards a pop and he’s a bigger kid as well.
Those slow developing hand offs we called zone reads this year, will be much more effective next year. Production may not be much of a drop off on QB play but the offense will take a step back because of OL and RB play. We don’t have a known commodity to replace Swift right now tbh.
Updated Speed Team
DB Ringo-Kimber
WR Smith-Burton (replacing Wren)
Possibly M. Fleming.
No projects here. Ready to go out of the gate!
I think he’s closer to 185-190 now. Sometimes these sites don’t have the accurate listing on weight.
Saw a pic circulating on Justin Robinson, listed at 6’4 201. That kid looks physically ready and every bit of 210 currently. Just saying the bio could be outdated. Mute point unless Card pulls a Houdini and shows up today. I think that injury cleared some things up last night; made it clearer/easier to stick with his first choice.
Quick PSA.
Third rail topics that will get you down votes.
1. Stating no one will come to UGA because of our offense.
2. All things Justin Fields
3. Saying anything positive about a team that wears orange.
4. General D baggery
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
So if Card is out and Stroud looking unlikely, do we think staff just sits on the 1 QB commit and moves on? Did Robby Ashford fall off the radar? I remember his name circulating early in the cycle. Figured the CML hire would reopen that door, but haven’t heard much in terms of him (or any Ole Miss players of mutual interest) following suit since joining staff.
Ashford had a subpar senior season. Hasn’t been mentioned in a long time which is an indicator staff cooled on him considerably. Even when he was a target, J. Criswell became more of the target. Thinking Feb-April time frame. Not having Pickens to throw it up to just may have exposed some things in his game.
