Isn't recruitology confirmed to be some 13 year old kid that just reads the internet and posts from his parents basement?
Assuming all of the above happen including losing Jones but flipping burton.
19 commits with a class score of 306.00 and moves us into 3rd and being 0.02 points away from 2nd
Saw it in the recruiting thread on GSB
Alabama would move to 310 with Jase and in a virtual tie with Clemson
Am I missing something on Willock?
He's good enough to be on the UGA line?
He has size. I am not sure how much of a project he is. He isn’t very highly rated but neither was Kindley
The reality is that if Pittman was still here Willock would not have committed.
But with Braun gone and Jones possibly leaving as well, we had to go to the next player on the list.
He will more than likely just be a depth piece on the roster.
If CML likes him you have to let him go for the guys he wants in his room. Fortunately he should have some time to develop and grow as a player. If we need meaningful snaps from him before 2021 at the earliest then either he's a diamond in the rough or things have gone awry on the OL.
Yeah I'll take Willock. Hopefully he can end up doing what Kindley did, and play well as a G when he's in shape. (Wynn actually was a .94+, so he was a good prospect)
The smoke surrounding Jones seems very real sadly, and was already out there really even before Pittman left. Hopefully the rumors going around that he's going to end it next week aren't real as if they aren't, I'll be hopeful that they can talk him into not flipping... For the record, it sounds like Willock is a Braun, not Jones replacement. I think getting that guy committed to Oklahoma that plays OL on campus this weekend has to do with Jones.
Who voted this down? You people need to get a grip. Sheesh! Probably the same f**l that gives me one...
It was me
Lol Wut @ the Jase Mclellan flip
Sometimes coaches see something the rating agencies don’t. On Dawgnation it says Willock is the #67 OT and #892 overall recruit - which, if an accurate rating - clearly not good enough for best OL room in college football. My guess - just a guess - would be this kid is probably super raw but has the size and strength that you cannot teach. CML and CKS probably see this kid and believe he can be developed.
I would love to see a breakdown between a Matt Luke OL unit and a Sam Pittman OL unit. Like how CML had never offered Braun while at ole pizza, he obviously has a different archetypal mold in mind for his unit than Sam. Willock may just be an ideal, archetypal fit for a CML OL regardless of ranking like how Kindley was really an archetypal fit for a CSP OL. This breakdown probably already exists somewhere on the interwebs but I'm too lazy to search it and obviously given the antsy posts we're seeing, it might bear reposting so people can calm the frick down.
Awesome !!! Now ... any update on Ringo ?
First impressions from a quick look at highlights were that he carries that much weight well... looks quick for his size and gets to the second level easily.
Definitely not out there ragdolling people like you saw on Braun's film, but he may move better than Braun.
Georgia
On Sunday, Georgia officially added commitment No. 15 back to its 2020 class when offensive lineman Devin Willock(Paramus, N.J./Paramus) went public with his commitment to Georgia.
"I have been a really big Georgia fan for some time now," Willow said. "So I could not turn down that opportunity. It feels awesome to be a Dawg. I am ready to get down there and compete."
That opportunity arose on Monday, when offensive coordinator James Coley got in touch with Willock and let him know that the Dawgs were interested. Coley and new offensive line coach Matt Luke went in-home with the 6-foot-5.5, 335-pound lineman on Thursday.
"That furthered my love for them and increased my connection," Willock said.
Willock then made the call to de-commit from Penn State.
"I told them that as soon as I was not taking the official visit to Penn State, that if I am coming down there to visit, I am coming to be a Dawg," Willock said. "They all got excited and I could feel the energy immediately."
Luke let Willock, considered by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite to be the nation's No. 892 overall prospect, No. 67 offensive tackle, and No. 22 overall recruit in New Jersey, know he sees a lot of upside in his film and feels he can develop him into an impact player for the Dawgs.
"I am a big guy who can move well," Willock said. "Coach Luke saw my highlight tape as well as my workout tape with Coach Pittman over the summer. He said that a guy who could move like I could, there was no way he was going to pass that up and that he could mold me into a Laremy Tunsil type player."
Willock is excited about the chance to learn from Luke.
"He is a really genuine guy," Willock said. "Knowing his track record, he has coached well everywhere he has been. Seeing who has developed under him and how, in his eyes, what he can do with me and what he sees in me, it proved to me he is the right coach for me."
D'Marcus Hayes will exhaust his eligibility and there is a very strong chance that both of Georgia's starting tackles, Andrew Thomasand Isaiah Wilson, skip their senior season and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft.
"Georgia is losing two, probably three offensive tackles this offseason, so the depth chart is appealing," Willock said. "So I would likely play tackle for them but I also have the ability to move inside if needed. But I also know the line of progression there so that it might be up to three years before I earn a starting role."
Willock was hosted by fellow offensive linemen Xavier Truss and Warren McClendonduring his official visit.
"You could tell they love being at Georgia," Willock said. "They are young so I was able to learn from them how they adjusted to Georgia, to being away from home, to the heat, and everything. It was really good to spend time with them."
Look for Willock to sign on Wednesday and enroll at Georgia after the spring.
"It is awesome to know Georgia was the place I am going to be at for the next four years," Willock said. "I felt very comfortable and it was great for my family to see my future home."
Willock becomes the fifth addition to an offensive line class that also includes five-star Broderick Jones (Lithonia, Ga./Lithonia) and four-stars Tate Ratledge (Rome, Ga./Darlington), Sedrick Van Pran (New Orleans/Warren Easton), and Chad Lindberg (League City, Texas/Clear Creek). Georgia currently has 15 verbal commitments and can sign up to 23 this cycle
...
reading the article above, Willock moves well for his size, maybe better fit for the team. Star rankings is not everything, if both Coaches Coley and Luke think his a valuable pick up, personally I like him better than Braun, feel our OL too slow reacting sometimes in games this year...
Good post
6’5 330 is a big boy. He can be the next Kindley for all we know
The reality is if we had room Willock would have been a dawg in the summer. Pittman liked him a lot, but he didn't have a spot with 5 olinemen committed. Pittman being gone allowed us the open space since Braun decommitted and CML liked Willock as well. We will see on Jones.. I have not heard from any reliable that he is gone and won't sign with UGA. the only stuff i have heard are from auburn fans which isn't exactly the most reliable group.
