Yup. I’m very jealous. Suggested retail price is around 299 and I think people will pay more than that to get it. This bourbon wins Natty’s. I’m actually a big fan of all the Buffalo Trace distillery does. People seem to like E.H. Taylor and Eagle Rare, but their flagship brand, Buffalo Trace, is my favorite bourbon-for-your-buck, even with the 10 dollar price jump it seems to have these days. In any case, here is a helpful article about Pappy from a Forbes reviewer.

Thank you very much
I mean, some places want crazy money for it....
20 year pappy...
Great synopsis...and I hate @texdawg as well (just kidding!). Wheated bourbons have a significantly different taste, (which I really like) and 20 year old Pappy’s is their Holy Grail. I’ve never had the good fortune of tasting the 20 year Pappy’s, but hope to at some time in my life.
BTW...on another note, the Weller Special Reserve green label is a very tasty wheated bourbon at an affordable price. I recommend it highly for easy sippin’.
Thanks for all the info.......all 3 of you.
Ok. So you guys have gotten me a little interested in Bourbon.
I was in Scotland in 98' and got into Single Malt Scotch which has always been my splurge liquor.
As i shared.....had my first 20yr Pappy Van Winkle on Friday night.....and Sunday night.
Was at a party tonight and had a glass of Michter's 20 year single malt. Thought these people were wine snobs....turns out they are Bourbon snobs as well.
Actually liked the Michter's better than the Pappy.
Question for you Bourbon enthusiasts.......is it appropriate to drink this high end bourbon over ice?
I drink single malt smooth....and have had my bourbon over ice. Am I giving the Bourbon snobs a heart attack by having it over ice? No one has said anything so far.
In my experience, same rules apply to Bourbon as to Scotch.
Drink it however you want. That's the only only rule that matters. Would you refuse to feed a guest who likes their steak medium well?
I never drink neat, always with ice. It's 100% up to you
I'm a one cube guy
Right there with you.
Wow. Tough question. I'd have a difficult time grilling a good steak med well. Depends on the guest.
I think I enjoy bourbon more than scotch.
Have you ever had Michter's?
I have not, but I've always been a scotch drinker. I started following this thread to learn more about bourbon from TFK and the gang.
Same here...Dewar's and Glenmorangie for me.
Think I like bourbon better. Need to find a much less expensive one to enjoy.
I can't afford Pappy van Winkles or Michter's unless a friend or family member is offering it.
