Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

It's hard to tell sometimes over the interwebs
I don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but Jeff said on DND today that at this point the question isn’t if he ends up at UGA but when he gets there
This was my understanding as well, legally binding document. Then yesterday, I read a private message from TOS (rivals Jake Reuse) that indicated theres a loop hole there. UGA delayed public announcement so they could tear up the LOI and not have it as initial counter under failure to qualify. This would essentially get the BPA spot back if Kirby decided to move on.
Either way, I haven’t heard anything that indicates the LOI has been rescinded or that staff no longer wants Evans; they still want him just wanted him early. @SwiftyMan im assuming via Americus Dawg on TOS stated it’s not an test score issue (we know the GPA is fine) and Evans could still enroll early. This is the version of the story that’s most ideal for all involved.
Theres been 4 different stories in 36 hours so not sure which site has it right. I heard ACT test score issue. I’ve read separate incident with HS staff, Evans no longer interested and concerned with depth chart (I don’t believe this at all), & staff now too concerned to take him (I don’t believe this at all).
I suppose it’s possible that the Admissions dept is taking a firmer line on GPA/ACT in the wake of a few reported eligibility issues on the current roster; but the Admissions department’s stated guiding principal is that they put more weight on how a student does in the classroom over the course of their high school career vs how they do in a 3-hour test.
I’d be surprised if it was test score related.
Positive spin: I think this may be a good thing. I think some of these interviews coming out with Evans and the humility this kid is showing will help his public perception and show that he is wanting to work and improve as a young man. Crazy how the tones have changed from yesterday AM to last night and today.
Meanwhile - didn’t see this until just now...UGA with the MVP from both sides of the ball last night.
Congrats to Carter!
Both of these players will contribute to the dawgs early and often!
This isn't super surprising when you have potentially ten players in the game. I can't wait for these guys to get to Athens!
Edit: 12 players! I just checked Jeff's numbers in his thread to confirm.
Does anyone know what time Ringo is expected to announce tomorrow (what part of the game)?
Someone from TOS that is confirmed to be working in Athens has said Evans will announce this weekend and be in Athens next week. TIFWW
From @FirePlugDawg's post thirty pages back:
All-American Bowl Game Jan 4 noon CT NBC
Xzavier Henderson WR noon
Dwight McGlothern CB noon
Kelee Ringo CB 6 PM
hah... BREAKING NEWS: Some guy from Athens said a thing.
The last topic he started was about how bad Mays and Salyer are at tackle and how were doomed if we have to start them next season. TIFWIW
Yep. Some guy who lives on the outskirts of Athens who got gas on Prince Ave., said the LOI is on a fax machine somewhere.
Does this mean Ringo will not announce during game ( 6 PM ) ?
Wait... who has a fax machine?
The NLI had to be submitted to NCAA by Midnight Dec 20th in order to be valid. Assuming that happened it cannot be voided (seems a valid assumption given he was going to announce and enroll until the 11th hour). If he doesn't attend UGA he will still count as a 2020 initial. A public announcement is optional and is not relevant to his status except it confirms he has signed (Rules infraction occurs otherwise)
Jalen Carter should be a 5 Star IMO, probably the recruit I am most excited about besides Kelee.
Did he see Brock V? Was he wearing a Ga shirt? #11?
I don't think they can void the NLI and get back an initial counter to use on another player. The NLI is bundled with a financial aid agreement from the school. Once the school offers the FA, then that player counts an initial counter. Similar to how a non-qualifier would count as an initial counter. There would be no benefit to voiding the NLI since the initial counter has already been used.
Probably been discussed somewhere on this thread, but right now, if both Jones and Van Pran sign with us, how many more spots do we have?
Apologize for being lazy.
