Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

With the news on ZE being what it is, I would like to bring Corey Wren back as all purpose back and return specialist and project wr. If Cook gets hurt, then we have no speed back out of backfield.
Ok, ask Kipp where in the NCAA bylaws it says that you can get an initial counter back if a player that signed an NLI doesn't enroll and report it back here when you get that info. That should clear up any ambiguity.
We've all learned in the past few days the "I talked to a guy that knows" line has very little credence, especially with those 247 guys. Bring some facts to the table, not the same old "he told me he heard it from a guy" trope .
There’s no way Zach did anything as bad as what clay Webb did and I guarantee u Kirby new ab Webb’s situation. That’s what makes this so disappointing. There has been no news of Evans doing anything to warrant not signing him.
Whew...
Couple of posts on here CLEARLY demonstrate what is wrong with prep athletics today...
...and CLEARLY demonstrate the massive flaws that social media, instant information, nonsensical fandom, and reactionary "send-hitting" reveal about big-time prep sports.
The infection that pro and college sports (and the materialism and selfishness driven by the almighty $) have passed on to high schools - and kids - is sad, dangerous, and will eventually destroy this "system" from within...
To make any conclusions -about a kid OR A COACH - based on the 1.7% of the information you MAY know shows you belong in the audience at a Jerry Springer taping...
The purpose of pro sports is to win.
The expectation of college programs is to win.
The purpose AND expectation of ANY prep program is to build productive citizens who can positively contribute to society, using a VOLUNTARY activity (that kids have ZERO entitlement to) that creates a REALISTIC, MERIT-BASED environment (which the classroom - by law in most places - no longer is) to teach life lessons.
TEAM. SACRIFICE. HUMILITY. HARD WORK. US OVER ME. FAILURE AS A TOOL TO GET BETTER...
Blame is the enemy of growth, progress, and SUCCESS in life.
Hope some of you guys (at least your philosophies) stay as far away from kids as you possibly can...
While Burch and Huntley would be a Kirby flip special on steroids for BPAs, not likely.
With BPA prospects dwindling, Maybe we need to revisit Burroughs. He may be somewhat of a project, but if he has great feet and quickness then he has better chance of contributing after Davis graduates than most freshmen or transfer candidates.
He has kids sign all over the country......
Has McGlothern played his way back into BPA status.
LSU bound
A sizeable loss, but mark my words, Jared Zirkel will score more points over his college career than Zach Evans.
mcglothern signed yesterday
I'd Imagine he asked someone who knows the specific rules. I do not.
I started free trial over there yesterday to see what was being said. But here's the link...
I can't emphasize enough how great of a coach and quality of a guy Jon Kay is. He is extremely successful and has done a lot for a bunch of kids that aren't in great situations.
Amazing how many of his kids get college scholarships every year.
I don't know how many people on Dawgnation have met the guy.....but I have....and attended a coaches conference where he was a key speaker.
I agree with @SoFL_Dawg that coaches could have probably handled the Texas thing better.....it wasn't so much that he didn't want to go to Texas.....it was what he posted on Twitter about UT.
We are all disappointed about losing Zach.....but be careful about placing blame.
Rules are in place and have to be followed until they are changed. I like the “phone curfew” rule. BUT....
I’m with you on the “Papa Swift” thing. Or Chris Milton. If that coach thinks he’s gonna have an Alpha dad coming at him it affects how rules are enforced. BUT...
If a young man grows up with an Alpha dad he is more likely to prioritize big things (like playing on a national stage and getting a scholarship to play at an elite college) and eschew menial things (like holding a phone and getting into an ego battle with a head coach).
it is my understanding that Zach did not benefit from having such a man in his life and that is precisely why I am disappointed that Kirby was sour on the kid all along. I am sure there is more to the story. Kirby may be wise to the notion that Evans is more trouble than he’s worth. And I recognize that my bleeding heart may preclude a $7M paycheck.
Let’s all celebrate that the best recruiter in the history of the sport (with all due respect to Saban) is the head coach of the Dawgs and not me.
P.S. Ringo is a freak among freaks. He can tote the rock in a pinch.
did he actually sign or just commit? Shouldn’t make a difference but it does nowadays
What are you smoking. I didn’t blame anyone. Perhaps the fourth time I have said this. The fact that physical component was part of the phone incident but wasn’t revealed until after ZE’s LOI was signed doesn’t pass the smell test. Enough with you.
