Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

QB is the position where I really can’t get too worked up more than a season in advance as long as there’s talent coming in on the regular. No one would have figured that Eason—>Fromm bypassing Fields would have happened.
Just to be clear Eason --> Fromm happened before Fields ever was a commit here. Fromm had already taken us to the national championship game before Fields even got here.
@Denmen185
Riddle me this:
Bama's last 4 recruiting cycles:
2017: 29
2018: 22
2019: 27
2020: 26 commits (22 signed)
Total: 104
UGA last 4 recruiting cycles:
2017: 25
2018: 24
2019: 25
2020: 21 (19 signed)
Total: 95
How has Bama been able to sign 9 more guys than us?
This is why I don't believe in the 25 hard cap.
(all info taken from 247)
Yes he would technically be eligible for the draft as a Redshirt Sophmore.
Yall talking about DJ Daniel?
He is draft eligible right now.
"Taken us"? He was the starting QB of the team that went to the national championship but don't confuse that with having led or being one of the primary reasons we got there. If you look at his actual numbers (quite pedestrian when compared to the final score), it is amazing that Eason, having lost his job to injury, was not given a chance to get it back. It was a great season for the team but it is this tendency to over-mythologize Fromm's performance (he was good and safe but far from great) has been a detriment to the program.
With the move to the spread we need more DBs than any other position group.
only gonna have 1-2 true LBs on the field on most plays. (not including OLB/Edge rushers).
3-4 DL on most plays.
That means most plays we have 5-6 DBs on the field.
On third down the bigger DBs like Otis Reese, Kelee Ringo, 2021 Williams kid allow us to take a LB off the field and put this bigger and much more athletic DB in that spot. Allows for much more movement pre-snap to confuse the QB. Can have a guy like Ringo show double A gap pressure with a guy like Nakobe Dean and then bail at the last second to cover the slot, while a guy like Nolan Smith & Jalen Carter twist and the OL is totally confused and somebody pops free to get into the QB unevaded. Because we still have guys like Travon Walker & Mekhail Sherman on the other side.
looks like we are bringing 6 with a double A gap blitz, but turns into a 4 man pressure with Nakobe as a QB spy and Ringo covering the hot guy in the slot for a pick-6 opportunity.
Could get gashed by a inside zone run play, but with a double A gap blitz, I doubt they'd check to a inside zone run play.
Lol, yeah. I was fasting for some bloodwork this morning and was apparently out of it. 🤷♂️
I thought Reece was in the portal.
He is.
But I'm mainly talking about the future.
He could come back, but I don't think he is enrolled in classes.
I probably should have left him off, but I was trying to emphasize the multiplicity of our DBs in today's college football.
On my 3rd down package I'd have
DL: Travon Walker, Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Jermaine Johnson
LB: Mark Webb, Kelee Ringo
DB: Eric Stokes, Tyson Campbell, Tyrique Stevenson
S: Lewis Cine, Richard LeCounte
Webb in over Dean. No thanks
Webbs a better 3rd Down LB than Dean IMO.
allows defense to be more multiple.
Can bring down a safety on the blitz late and Webb can bail to replace.
Webb has good size and is plenty physical.
This is obviously only in a 3rd & long situation.
Webb was used in the run and was at the star. I see what you are trying to say, but he is not an LB. Dean was everywhere on 2nd and 3rd as a MLB.
I'd have Webb on the field.....but not at LB.....and not over Dean.
