This cat fits what the new OC wants to do in the slot. My guess is if he wants in, he's in. Kang Kirby will figure it out. Worry not.
Thinking Lundy is the next to commit. Athleticism reminiscent of Robert Edwards - ability to play LB, Star, or RB? Really hoping he is part of this class.
That's high praise!
Like the thought also of having Lundy as the potential for a 5th RB on the roster if Evans or Edwards go elsewhere; but really want one of them obviously.
Saw McConkey versus Calhoun early this season, and he appeared to me to be bigger than 165 pounds. Seemed more like closer to 175/180 at the time. Was very impressed as North Murray pulled off the upset that week on the road. Numerous times he was able to avoid going down on a near sack and make a play either with his feet or his arm.
Still think Lundy is next to commit.
Read that Larry Porter could be considered for the open coaching spot. This would all but guarantee we get B. Jones. Is it worth it? Would Kirby bring in a coach just to guarantee a 5 star that we lead for anyway?
Why would Buster Faulkner not take the open “on-field” spot? He took a $100k pay cut to come to UGA as a QC assistant...
Not when he's already locked down anyway.
And not really ever. Intelligent teams don't hire a coach for ONE player.
Now I have no inside info at all, but I feel like Buster took this job essentially being OC in waiting. I feel like they all know Monken isn’t going to stick around for more than 2 or 3 years so Kirby may have gotten Buster by telling him he will he OC after Monken and it helps having him on staff this year to begin learning from Monken
I think Kirby is having contingency plans ready so he doesn’t get left high and dry when Monken leaves
Who's in line after Buster? Kirby-Krafty.
I see where you are going with this and it could certainly be logical.
First......almost guarantee that Monken is a 1-2 year OC. He has only been at one place for more than 2 seasons.......and that was three.
Curious why Buster would take this job unless it's for the opportunity to be the next UGA OC.....especially if they know Monken is a one season situation......which is likely.
Kirby may have offered Faulkner the opportunity to be the next OC.......but nothing more than the opportunity. Things change fast in college football and doubtful Kirby made any guarantees to Buster.
Ladd reminds me of the wr that dropped 200 on us two years ago. Think he played at umass.
Isabella
Andy Isabella. He’s in the nfl now. That dude was great.
