Sobering news. ESPN Confirmed his daughter was present, along with another parent and their child, presumably another young girl.

They were headed to a travel basketball game. Tragic news. RIP.

    This concerns me too!

ESPN is reporting Kobe's 13 year old daughter Gianna was also in the crash. Seems to be conflicting reports. In any event this is a real tragedy.

Growing up in Los Angeles the Lakers were as big as it gets. I remember listening to Laker games on the radio with my Dad. Chick Hearn for my money was the greatest basketball play-by-play announcer of all time. He made every aspect of the game exciting, from the tip off to the final buzzer and you always knew where the ball was on the court and who had it.

    RIP Mamba!

ABC news is now reporting there were 9 people on the helicopter.

The sheriff's department just had a press conference, but they didn't want to release any names yet. They did say there were 9 people that were on the helicopter and not 5.

Why does it always take something tragic to happen for us to understand how precious life is? We all have one life to live, we must enjoy it. Tomorrow should never be taken for granted.

RIP to one of the greatest

That’s got to be a scary way to go. While I’ve never been much of a basketball fan, Kobe is a name I’ll always remember.

Unfortunately, both him and his daughter died. A great player that made history on the court, it's a shame he died so young and left behind a grieving family, even worse considering his eldest was by his side. Life is cruel.
