11 Days till opening day. I’ve seen where we’re ranked anywhere from #3 to #13 and that’s in the top national sites I checked out. With the big arms of Hancock and Wilcox coming back and Webb and Darryl Pasqua I’m excited to check out this year’s team and see what kind of chemistry we have. Looking at the schedule I think we should go into the sec part undefeated. But I maybe asking for a bit to much. Go Dawgs Sic’em Woof Woof Woof!

Gotta find some bats. That felt like ultimate downfall of last year's team. Lost several 2-1, 3-2 kind of games. In college you have to be able to score runs in bunches.

Your right, that’s where I hope those starting pitchers can keep us in games until we build that chemistry. That’s what I mean, getting our hitters going and our line up right. We should be able to do it with our early schedule and win a one or two to 0 game till we get it worked out. If we can’t win those type games we’re in trouble to start with. I think we’ll have some bats and our schedule will give us enough time to get them going.

I’m lucky 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic and I’m at Foley field.

Not to be a downer, but I was hoping we would recruit better this past cycle. if we do well this year, that would be 3 years in a row of having a top 10 team. Need to start pulling in the recruits to keep it going. Bats have to do better.

If I remember right, and I could be wrong we had the #25 recruiting class last year. Not to shabby after the way we ended the past two seasons.

With our 2 future possible future number one picks, we should surpass last year imo. Brought in another really good catcher, a few really good arms, and Cam came back for 1 last run. I don't think a lot of people realize how teams like state, Vandy, Awbarn etc recruit . All are absolute juggernauts in baseball recruitment. That said; unlike football, we're probably never going to recruit nationally in baseball. But take a peak at ONLY the instate talent annually for baseball in Georgia. We start winning these battles and we lock up PLENTY of talent and surely enough to compete with any team in the nation.

Probably going to do well enough to be a national seed again off the pitching staff, but lose to a team of destiny like ACC team again, lol...

After Hancock and Wilcox move on to further pursing their MLB dreams, it'll be interesting to see if Stricklin is actually able to maintain. Recruiting in college baseball is different unless you're a Vandy and can regularly get your top 30-60 guys to forego turning pro and come to school because they have benefits here from being a private school, because you can put up a #1 recruiting class (Perno did this at times), but many of them could simply choose to turn pro so you have to be careful there. But despite that, there are still some valid concerns.

See if the formula that Stricklin has used keeps working...and honestly if he can win his own regional as well.

You are right to point this out. Cobb County is the prep baseball capitol of the world, and there's no reason we shouldn't sign Top 10 classes every year.

Yep. We pluck who we want from the state, and I guarantee we'll make going to Omaha an almost annual deal.

This year’s class we got Ryan Suppa N Cobb pitcher. The only player I saw from Cobb county. Cam and Sullivan at first base are the only seniors position players this year Sullivan’s a red shirt. The only other seniors are pitchers. we’re young so some of those guys have got to grow up fast.

The state of GA is a hotbed for the three major sports in the US.

Yep, but we don’t get our share. Starting to get more in football, Tech gets more baseball and everyone else in the Sec gets the basketball players. Well we got one, but for only one year in basketball. Sad to say but we’re getting better at in state recruiting, shows how bad we have been at it. I ain’t B!@hing just saying.

For any nonbelievers out there NCBWA has the Dawgs ranked #4, Vandy #1. What do they know or see that we don’t. I love our pitching staff, looks like one of the best if not the best in the country. In other post, some of you don’t think we have enough offense and some enough defense. I question both myself because we’re so young. So maybe NCBWA knows something we don’t. The fact is we don’t get to watch these high school kids play or know there potential like these ranking services do so against my better judgment I’m gonna take them for their word and stick with what I said originally and say we should be undefeated going into Sec play, if we lose the first game I’ll just have to shoot myself or my laptop. Just kidding I payed to much for my laptop and if I shoot it my wife will shoot me. Ironic or Moronic?

Winning it all is the best way to keep all the ridiculously great in state talent home. Our last time in Omaha we were a win away. That was 12 years ago. These kids need to see a great program growing up like the football kids do. Jmo
