Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Tyler, Nicholas Jamerson, just started to listen to Arlo McKinley(sp?), Foy Vance is pretty good, Brent Cobb is good. “Shine on Rainy Day” is a good album as is the new one. Providence Canyon I believe it’s called. Brent is a Georgia boy and related to Dave Cobb the producer, I believe. Dave Cobb has produced many great Americana/Folk/Country/Singer-Somgwriter albums.
Just realized you probably meant songs. His albums are on Apple music so I’m used to just downloading albums. Songs I’d recommend are Hindman, Long way to Wheelwright, Floyd County All Stars, The Sun and Riverbank. He has other great songs also and a dropping a new album 4/20.
That’s how I started following him after Mansion cane out. I was looking for a high quality, Christian artist for my teenage son to listen to instead of some others. I’m pretty sure the ATL show is going to get cancelled because of C-19.
your son is way too old, probably, to like this guy but look up Froggy Fresh. Silly but fun rapper. He does not make rap anymore but when my son was 5 or so started listening to him. He created a whole little world his songs take place in. In case you have any other young kids
A friend of mine manages a handful of great bands, if you want to combine your love of vinyl with support for local music in these difficult times.
Futurebirds and Cicada Rhythm are both Athens-based. Hardy Morris, who some of you may know from Dead Confederate, is an Augusta/Athens guy. And Great Peacock is from Nashville.
These are links to buy their albums directly. If you want to check any of them out first, they should all be on Spotify, Apple, Youtube, etc.

I bought an Audio-Technica from Best Buy. 3 or 4 different turntables at various price points. I was lucky enough to get the higher end $250 turntable with the help of a $200 gift card.
I gotta say that I really enjoy listening to vinyl again. I'll listen to albums from beginning to end. Actively. Not that I don't when I'm streaming, but streaming can be passive at times.
Sturgill Simpson dropped a new album today, digital only, but the vinyl is avail. for pre-order and will come out in December. Bluegrass album
I like all his music, even if I find him annoying. I saw him and Tyler in concert earlier this year. This is great if you like his first three albums. The only new songs are ones he wrote back in 2006-2007 he said.
I loved sound and fury but no songs from that album are on this one not sure if just didn't fit or because he left that label
I love Tyler's stuff but hard pass at that song on his most recent album. The music only tracks are good but I didn't buy that album just because of that track.
I bought the digital album of this one and I'm listening now I'll grab the vinyl in December when it's available. I wanted that blue one but I'm not spending $33 just to join a club to have the ability to buy. hopefully my local vinyl shop will have the green/yellow edition
He dropped another bluegrass album a few days ago. def. gives his songs a new vibe. I'll grab both on vinyl. He said he will do a bluegrass tour too
Thanks for not calling them "vinyls"
Love Futurebirds and T Hardy. Actually reached out to Futurebirds about doing one of their backyard shows they promoted over the spring/summer. A few friends were willing to chip in to make it happen but never heard back from them.
Been listening to the new The War on Drugs live album. Anyone that’s into them should check it out. Also, enjoying the new Sturgill releases.
