Still don't know anyone yet. No co-workers, family, friends, or friends of friends. Also, checking around with other parents who have school age children, I'm only aware of one school (out of approx. a dozen in the Atlanta area) that has a confirmed case. But apparently things may accelerate this week, with the contagion cycle and more testing, so let's see where we are by the weekend.

All healthy for me, wife, and newborn, huge blessing for sure! Did want to add that a good friend of mine is a compounding pharmacist in ATL and they’ve been making a ton of CQ as it’s being used on a couple of patients here with very strong results. He was very optimistic about it based on the results, but said there is now a huge shortage for supplies to make it. Said there next order won’t be in until April.

Atlanta Mayor Bottoms has issued a “Stay at Home” order until April 7th, limiting open businesses to those deemed essential. Oddly enough, even though everyone is ordered to “Stay at Home”, she specifically listed that “parks and the Atlanta Beltline” would remain open.

Typical City of Atlanta government. The Beltline will be shoulder to shoulder crowded with people walking and riding, some of whom will probably get there by using Marta. But seriously - who can honestly blame them when you look at the real numbers?

Current death rate in Georgia for “known cases” is 3.25%, but they won’t (or can’t) test anyone who only has “mild to moderate” symptoms. Medical professionals acknowledge that is at least 80% of the infected, and the CDC says even higher. Multiply the known cases by 5 if you want to use the 80% guesstimate, or by 7 to use the CDC’s. That produces a still falsely inflated estimated mortality rate of between 0.45% and 0.65%, primarily elderly folks who aren’t very likely to be out riding their bikes in the park.

Germany banned gatherings of more then 2 people. Not much has changed for me though. I still come in to work everyday. I went to the German grocery store and its way more calm and also fully stocked compared to the commissary on base. The German people seem to take everything in stride and don't get riled up to easily. Unless its a soccer match. Then all bets are off. The past couple matches prior to the pause in play they had to have the riot police secure the outside of the stadium before the game to keep things from getting out of hand.

Terminal A (Delta terminal at Logan Airport in Boston) at 11 AM this morning.

Crazy stats chatting with people here this AM...

TSA Agent: they average over a thousand screenings an hour normally, did a total of 180 during her entire 8 hour shift yesterday

Newsstand/Convenience Store Clerk: worked 12 hours yesterday and did $500 in sales total; normal day is $40,000

    Economic impact is incredible...

When I lived in England (1983-86), you had to be careful going to soccer matches...especially International matches. There is still a lot of bad blood between nations over there. Riots were not uncommon. Being an American we were often targets. After the bombing of Libya back in the 80's (the bombers launched from England) we (all Americans) were told to shelter in place for a while because the English were not happy. We were told not to wear any USA stuff and take all USA related stickers off our cars. People used to throw rocks at our school buses. True story.

Youre right about their soccer. I was in Ramstein (spell check) at the hospital otw back from Afg and Germany had just won one of the final rounds and it felt like the country was being invaded with the amount of screaming and fireworks going off. Then i came home July 3rd and got to deal with all the fireworks at home lol. Great time.

I’ve had it .... The near and far left ( National Democrats , CNN, MSNBC, NYT, Wash Post , ET.al ) want to burn the country down and bring it back rebuilt as a socialist country denominated by the elites , entertainment industry and identity politicians. They don’t care if you and me lose all we have worked for over this virus .... as long as Trump goes down with the ship .... sad .... time for me to end news ( fake and twisted) go fishing , work my garden cause I’m going to need it along with my clueless friends .... and in a few weeks wake up and live the nightmare ...... or pray that God will intervene, stop the virus , heal our land and somehow change or defeat the combined enemies of America ...as we have known it
