Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Something is really bothering me about Dawgnation

Maybe like this:
Because you see it as a slogan instead of what the words mean. I don't care about an organization or who else is behind "BLM". I care about the lives of the young black men that I see and take care of on a daily basis. Take the words for what they say, not what some "organization" is doing. It's not a slogan.
This is a poor effort.
I don’t think anybody has said the players can’t have and express opinions. There’s a difference between the players expressing their opinions on social media or message boards and doing it when they’re essentially at work.
I’m guessing that this thread, which has been a decently calm discussion, is about to go off the rails thanks to your desire to hit folks with a silly zinger.
Everyone please notice that the thread was being kept open when things were civil for roughly a page and a half? Now we’re getting close to closing this thread. We’re “monitoring closely.” Thanks in advance for not turning this into a blaming the “other side” and getting completely off topic.
Copy and pasting Tex’s original topic, so let’s keep it on that please. “I've started this thread so that people can discuss how awesome Herschel was and still is.”
But it's the organization's slogan. I support the slogan. I think everyone does.
It was calm until certain folks showed up cursing and writing in all caps and such. I like it calm.
Herschel Walker is a DGD and a great American.
Yes, several people on here have said that players shouldn't speak publicly on politics. Typically when they say something that is seen as left leaning. It's usually accompanied with "they are kids and aren't mature enough to talk about these things" and for pro players it's "they can't do that at work".
Can you point out the cursing?
Well anybody who says the players can’t have an opinion—I disagree with that.
However, if I think their opinion is wrong, that’s an opinion I am allowed to express.
Said nearly no one
I didn’t say it was you doing the cursing. Filter caught it but I’m fairly certain of the meaning behind those asterisks.
Well, most Americans can’t voice their political beliefs at work or on social media due to backlash they will face. Unless of course those views align with a certain political party that’s accepted by popular culture. When I began my banking career with a large corporate bank, I had to take 40 hours of sensitivity training just because I openly supported Donald Trump’s campaign on Facebook. I had multiple minority co-workers openly supported Hilary, and absolutely nothing happened to them. I guess I needed to check my white privilege.
Oh wow someone got passionate over an issue that has deep personal meaning for them. I hope you can find a way to forgive them.
I'll second @teddy..... the purpose of this thread was to recognize a great Georgia legend.....but one that seems to be taking a hit from the fan base.
What has Herschel done to deserve this? He has been a great representative of the University.......he has been and still is a successful business owner......seems like a great father....
Has dealt with bullying, severe racism and mental illness.......how is he not a great person for young men and women to look up too.....black, white, Hispanic, everyone.
You can't convince me that Herschel isn't very concerned with equality, racism and social justice......but he believes it can be done differently.
He's being criticized because he is a proud American, supports our troops, stands for the flag and is appreciative of the police and the difficult and dangerous job that they do......
Think about that......he is being criticized for standing for those things
Oh I’m not mad. He’s a good poster. But when we’re trying to talk like adults, calm is generally appreciated. So yeah we all need to control ourselves in order to keep these discussions open on this message board.
