Athens police are known to be @ssholes but let’s be real here. Otis did not leave Athens for any reason other than playing time. His statement would have you believe Athens is the capital of the Klan and Mississippi is a progressive utopia. Folks, this is most likely trumped up hogwash by a kid who has no basis for a waiver.

But on any college campus, there are idiots, racists, immature kids, rednecks and the campus police harass everyone equally in Athens ..you can’t run from it.

Not true that he wasn’t stopped twice? Because that’s absolutely true. What went down in those stops is debatable.
Kirby needs to get out ahead of this. While I believe it’s selfish of Reese to publicly trash our university, the perception that UGA is a safe haven for racist behavior needs to be squashed immediately.
To clarify he never reported a problem to UGA. The incident happened but he never made any problem known

I hate those incidents happened to Otis and I have no doubt that the incidents ocurred regarding the police department. The campus and student life i have no direct knowledge of as i was only in Athens after military service working and not going to UGA anyway. But the two times I had significant interactions with police there were not pleasant experiences.
First time I was pulled over after working out in a gym at like 4 in the afternoon. The cop insisted he could smell something, gave me a breathalyzer and searched my car. And just generally a prick the whole time and I was compliant and polite the whole time. Nothing he could find and he ended up letting me go.
Second time I had juror duty for a drinking and driving case in which they called the two citing officers to testify. First officer goes to the stand and launches into a completely bs story which was pretty obvious even before the second officer took the stand and directly refuted much of the first officers story.
I guess point being and I've seen it around dawg boards more than once, many of the officers in athens are over zealous as hell, some of it most likely due to the college aged population. If Otis feels that they were racially profling him, and its possible that they were, I wasn't there to be able to dispute those claims. However, I am white as were all of the officers as well as the defendant in the drunk driving case and officers can be just a douchey to white people too.
With this point in time everyone being as sensitive as they are to every potential racial injustice it is possible that he put motivations on officers where there was none except being d***heads.
The rest of the letter seems like it was written by Kiffens legal team. He holds no affection for UGA for some reason.
Did he get stopped twice? I know he said he tried to get body cam and was told there wasn’t any. And there wouldn’t likely be reports if there was no ticket/arrest. But if he knows the date and time there should be CAD (computer aided dispatch) reports I think.
It’s no secret that Athens PD are a bunch of assholes who seemingly target football players. I don’t doubt that at all.
As for the rest, I‘d be curious to see if any current players speak out about this. These are some monumental accusations.
