The 1990s teams won quite a few postseason series. I won't declare this version more resilient than that era's teams just yet.
I sure hope they win a title or 2 though.
Tellez for Brewers reminds me of ringer softball player that Acme Co hired for the softball season.
He is obviously a better athlete than I give him credit for.
Except for Duvall’s infield hit. What a laffer!
You can call these Braves the Eliminators!
First the Padres, then the Phillies and Mets, and now the Brewers!
Go Braves!
Now that Smith closed the deal, I can take a breath. I reserve the right to hold it the next time he enters a game. So far, so good. Kudos to the rest of the pen for a very good performance in this series.
We have to root for the Dodgers. If they win, we have homefield. If the Giants win, they have homefield.
Clearly this team has a better offense which helps with the resilience. Those 90s team weee **** good. One bounce here or there and they are looked at differently.
Sorry, being from the Oakland-SF bay area, I will NEVER root for the Dodgers. Especially since they are, arguably, the biggest spender in baseball. Nope. It would be the sweetest thing, however, to beat them to get to the WS.
Totally get it. You sound like me being asked to root for an Auburn or Florida team in a national championship game because they are from the SEC. NOT!!!
Braves in five!!
Interesting story on the Braves’ approach to shh ting the infield and how it has affected their defense. Good read.
I'm all about what would favor The Braves. In this case that isn't at all clear. Either of these teams would be heavy favorites against our Bravos. On paper the Dodgers are scarier, but The Giants' season speaks for itself. As pointed out we would have home field vs The Dodgers by virtue of being division winners vs The Dodgers being a wildcard. We'd be the road team vs The Giants because they are division winners and have by far the better record.
Tip of the cap to Luke Jackson who got yet another hold. He's always had the arm, he now has the confidence to match.
Looks like it is going to be a rematch!
Braves v. Dodgers! Cody Bellinger with the go ahead RBI in the top of the ninth.
And they used Max Shurzer to close out the ninth. Could bode well for the Braves!
Go Braves!
I'll say it again, it's far past time MLB takes decisions out of the bozos hands. The Giants lost the series tonight on a swing that was clearly checked. Every series has many missed calls. The solution is let the machines call balls and strikes and make every call in the field and at bat reviewable.
Now on to The Braves vs Dodgers. By closing out Milwaukee in 4 we get to Start Fried and Anderson in games 1 and 2 at home where both have been better this season. We can then start Morton on the road in game 3 where he's been best this season.
Fried was 7-3 with a 2.94 ERA at home, Anderson was 5-1 with a 3.52 ERA at home. Morton was 8-3 with a 3.06 ERA on the road. All 3 have been lights out in postseason. Anderson has been plain great in postseason. In 5 career starts he's 3-0 with a 0.79 ERA.
I can definitely see how sh!tting on the field might affect the defense. 😂
