If only they had consulted me before trading for Odorizzi.
His #'s suggested a veteran guy who could eat up innings and keep games close - a "perfect" 5th starter. Alas....
Be safe during hurricane. Do you watch Ray's? I dont recall any pitchers other than Cobb and Davis that have been very successful after Ray's moved on from them.
They have a good tract record of getting the best out of a pitcher and then either trading them away or letting them be free agents.
Thank you.
Braves leading 6-2 in the bottom of the 6th while the “lousy, stinking Mets” are getting “skull f**ked” by the Marlins!
Sorry, but I reeeeeally don’t like those Mets!
Tonight could be the night , boys and girls!
Go Braves!
It was, at least on our side. Last I checked, the LSM''s were down a couple in the bottom of the 9th. Marlins have some arms.
Olson got another hit tonight - got a little streak going. Somebody needs to wake Riley up. He's really struggling right now.
Tied for 1st, 97 wins each. I am still trying to get over 1969 against those lousy stinking Mets.
Yeah, this doesn’t seem suspect in the Mets game…
Me too, my friend! That was truly painful to get swept by that bunch!
The Braves had just recently got here and were the darlings of the city. To be so ingloriously taken down by those “lousy, stinking Mets “ was a bitter pill to swallow especially since New Yorkers had a rather haughty view of us upstart southerners!
Any time we beat the Mets, just like beating the Dodgers, is a wonderful thing!!!
Go Braves!
Just wow….!
The NY “we need them in the finals to increase the ratings” conspiracy apparently DOES exist…….
One of the dumbest calls. It is supposed to be a judgement call on wether or not the pitcher is trying to be deceptive. This Ump knows he wasn't, but seems like he has an ax to grind. The first call is the closest to a deceptive action, but intent also plays a part which makes the balk such a **** rule. MLB needs to fix this. I do like seeing Mattingly get tossed though. Can't stand that dude.
"I do like seeing Mattingly get tossed though. Can't stand that dude."
Exactly! The way that he continued to allow his pitchers to throw at Acuna,Jr. was unconscionable!
Go Braves!
I believe MLB pitchers are given a lot of room w/r to their "natural motion". If he's been doing it the same way and it hasn't been called (before the ump did last night) he should have been given the benefit of the doubt. To call it three times in a row on 3 successive pitches lends weight to the "axe to grind theory" in my mind, anyway. Look at Kenley Jansen's "natural motion".
I didn't see last night's pitcher trying to be deceptive.
Odorizzi "Don't let me down".
I believe someone else said it first.
