I need to correct something… after doing a little research… House of the Dragon is roughly based on volume one of a Martin prequel novel entitled ‘Fire and Blood’—which I have not read.
Not much of a fiction reader. In the books, is the war against the walkers more epic? With the 7-season build-up to the impending invasion they could have dedicated the entire 8th season to the war. Nobody outside of the North even knows there was battle against the dead.
Yes Peaky Blinders final season is out, I am starting it this evening! Deadwood was great and very historical accurate, even down to the cursing. Rome was historical accurate as well and the acting was first rate . The Last Kingdom and Vikings were both very good, if you like those try and find the mini series " Sharpe" which was created from the books by Bernard Cornwell and aired by the BBC in the late 90's or early 2000's staring a young actor named Sean Bean as Sharpe.Mash holds a very special place for me, the show the actors and the time in my life. It was a ritual for my roommates and I to watch reruns before heading to work when we tended bar together.
Last Kingdom was great. I loved Vikings also until they killed Ragnar and Lagertha. Katherine Winnick was simply the hottest woman on TV. The story got very convoluted after those main characters were killed off. Maybe I should give it another go. I didn't like GOT much the first time either.
Not only was she hot, she was bad-a$$. Todd McShay wouldn't have a chance against her in a cage match. In all honesty, neither would I.
Just wanted to post this in case you haven't seen Vikings. Lagertha....Mmmmmmmm
I watched Vikings up through the sack of Paris… perhaps I will go back to it someday. 👍
The books have not reached that stage of the story yet… IIRC season 4 is the last that covers the events in the books published to date…
Martin won't finish the story. It's kind of a sore spot with the book fans. It's actually the reason I never started the books. Figured if he wasn't going to complete it, I won't start it.
Same. Had friends imploring me to read the books because they’re so good. I said whenever he finishes the series I will. That was 6-7 years ago and the penultimate book still hasn’t come out.
Been waiting 11 years since the most recent book IIRC. 🤣😐🤷🏻♂️
Started watching Rome again. Didn't realize that several actors from GOT are in Rome. Did some research and Rome was HBO's precursor to GOT. There are a lot of similarities. It was their first big budget TV series. If you haven't seen Rome and enjoyed GOT, you should check it out.

I have 2 episodes of the last season of Peeky Blinders left , which is one of the best written and acted shows I have ever seen. Highly recommend it !
