Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

In theory, honest news articles should be the same no matter what network or paper publishes it.
Well I hate to break it to you. But its never been that way.
William Randolph Hearst was the Rupert Murdoch of his day.
You give me the pictures ill give you your war.
But yeah there is good news out there. You just have to be selective about your sources.
The WSJ for example is still an excellent source. As is the NYT. One conservative. The other liberal. So yeah you get that on their editorial pages.
But the reporting they both do is top notch typically.
"One Conservative, one Liberal." Now that wouldn't lead to any editoralizing at all.
Seriously though, is there a decent news source that doesn’t lean left or right?
Associated Press. Reuters. InfoWars.
Of course it does. But they do strive to keep it out of the straight reporting.

No. Never has been either. We all act on biases even sometimes unconsciously. Journalists are no different. But again some like the WSJ do try and keep it straight with their reporting. Opinions are reserved for the editorial pages.
oh please. If you had added The Onion it would have been easier to get the sarcasm.
Radi says the University is going on offense…
Offense wins championships. Let's win this one!!
I do agree with some of what you are saying. I don't know that the publications you cited are all that great anymore. I used to get the NY Times delivered for many many years but stopped a few years back as the reporting became sketchy imo. Same with the Washington Post when I was younger. It just isn't that good and objective anymore.
Now if I want unfettered and objective articles I go to substack. Of course I have to pay for several of the authors there but it is about 7 dollars a month each.
Therein lies the core problem....the public doesn't trust (nor should it trust) the major news outlets anymore. ABC, NBC, CBS...even CNN used to be unquestionably reliable. You watched the evening news and accepted that it was truthful and honest reporting. The WSJ, NYT, Washington Post were all basically mandatory reading. Even local papers were largely trusted with large subscriptions. Now, people are tired of the nonsense. Who really watches the evening news anymore or reads the paper every morning? People have lost confidence and have tuned out.
Well part of that is some of those News organizations will tell you everyone else is lying to you. Only we have the truth. That is kind of the playbook of a cult.
The key is to get your news from a few different sources and vet those as much as you can.
If you only get your news from one source then yeah you are probably in trouble.
But I'll go back to the Facebook meme's and such. This is what passes for being informed these days. That isn't the news media's fault. So when you have someone who "does research on YouTube" or gets their news from Facebook, who then reads legit news and thinks its all BS because they saw something different on YouTube.
Well....you land where we are.
Concur.
I get most of my news from this forum. You guys are telling me the truth right?
I think I’ll just get my news straight from Twitter from now on. No chance on anyone influencing that, right?
100%. All you need to do is look at how we agree on most everything to see that.
