Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

The officer to Speedball Tucker: “95’s the route you’re on, not the speed limit sign!” Jim Croce RIP
I’ve been thinking about some of these same points. NIL money resulting in high performance cars being available to young men already conditioned towards aggressive reckless abandonment regarding their bodies on the football field seems like a recipe for disaster in any CFB program IMO, and that’s not a shot at NIL, just a rather logical theory.
So, is anyone aware of this happening within other programs? I do think the horrible tragedy in January has obviously put and kept UGA in the spotlight, especially in addition to the natty attention, but it’s hard for me to imagine why it would be unique to Kirby’s program and not similarly happening elsewhere.
Thoughts?
I think he was going 185 in his maserati...
I hear he lost his license, now he don't drive.
That's it. Take away their license and make them live next to the Stadium. They can take the bus.
Problem solved.
Thanks for linking that. A couple of devil’s advocate counters:
>That’s over a year old. Anything fresher regarding their slimy program, or any other?
>Unless I somehow missed it, there apparently wasn’t a connection to drag racing, which seems to be the current fad in Athens.
I’m inclined to believe that NIL, players, youthful reckless foolishness, and fast cars, are now a very common combo throughout CFB. And, while of course not actually wanting to hear of trouble elsewhere, I am once again just wondering out loud why we’re not more often?
I guarantee it's happening at other schools. Probably every school in fact. We are at the top, so we get all the attention. But I bet Stanford, Duke and Vandy have similar issues.
If they have 19 year olds with fast cars and they have a night to themselves…it’s happening. Only our team has won back to back championships so we get all the pub
The "AJC Effect" continues around the country with other media now jumping on the "Kirby Bad" bandwagon.

Was Terence Moore the anti-UGA/pro Tech AJC writer from yesteryear, or am I remembering incorrectly?
You are remembering correctly.....
He was also a David Justice apologist when David crossed swords with the fans in the early '90's....would never let it go even after he got traded from the Braves!
But he did hit the only HR for the only run in game seven against the Cleveland Indians in '95!
I was going to read that article until mercifully the reporters name was given. I swore off that sob a long time ago. Thanks for posting who wrote it!!
I was looking for National Enquiror today in grocery store but they only had ajc in their space.
Truer words were never spoken, sir!!
The last time I read one of his “hatchet Atlanta teams” column I threw up a little in my mouth..
