Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

That was quite the performance by Strider. Seven strikeouts in a row with nine in the first four innings.
On another subject, I just realized Tropicana Field has a seating capacity of only 25,000. Wierd, right?
The Rays only sell the lower bowl and claim sellouts at 25k
Glad no Braves in home run derby, could mess with your swing for weeks. Can't be good for certain muscles to swing that many times with max velocity.
Sound thinking. Would be interesting to see how the top finishers in the Derby do their first couple of weeks back in regular season play. Surely someone has already done this research?
Braves have loaded up on arms so far in this draft. Given that only a few may pan out, the others may be good trade bait for other positions the Braves did not address. this whole thing about drafting over or under the slot to save money to higher rated draftees is quite interesting. Makes talent evaluation pretty important.
Well, tonight is the All-Star game with eight Braves players attending.
Wouldn’t it be sweet if, sometime during the game, all six players, minus the two pitchers, were in the game at the same time? The three starters, Acuna, Arcia and Murphy along with the three backups, Riley, Albies and Olson?
Would make one helluva lineup!
The pitchers, Strider and Elder, probably won’t play as they recently pitched in the series against the Rays, but what an honor for the Braves and the city of Atlanta to be so well-represented!
Go Braves!
I have the MLB Channel with my cable subscription. And they were featuring the 1971 All-Star game. The game featured 23 future Hall-of-Famers, including Hank Aaron who hit his career high of 47 hrs in just 139 games that year -- his 18th year of professional ball. And Joe Torre who played for the Cardinals and had a .363 batting average.
But the remarkable thing about that game (played in Detroit Tigers stadium) was a hr hit by Reggie Jackson that hit a transformer over the roof of the stadium. And someone said the ball was still rising.
Mr. October had some power, for sure.
It was!!!
Will never forget that game and the stoppage of play while Reggie tipped his hat to the crowd!
Incredible power....can't remember what they estimated the distance would have been had it not hit the transformer but it would be the longest HR ever!
I think the estimate was 1, 256 feet!!
🤣🤣😎
Yes, I am ready for some Braves baseball. Will keep my fubo subscription thru September, have youtubetv paused and that will click back on in mid Sept. Best part is my American express card is basically paying for 1 month of fubo.
Playing the White Sox tonight. Let the homerun barrage continue.
Yes. I hope we can pick right up where we left off. Our 6 position players who went to the all-star game should be rested but not rusty (hopefully). No offense to any Rusty out there.
Charlie M should be well rested and, hopefully, continue what had been great starting pitching for a good while now.
Strange things can happen after the all-star break. Look at the Braves last year. So, let's hope for continued consistency of good play - and welcome back Max Fried very shortly.
Four nothing Braves after one. Matt Olson Grand Slam Home Run.
9-0 final. Morton dealing tonight. Great start to the second half.
The ATLANTA BRAVES ARE TEARING IT UP!!! THEY ARE 4 1/2 games ahead of Tampa Bay for the best record in the Majors!!
GO BRAVES!!!
Guess it's a bit more than okay when you start the second half with a HR before getting an out!
AMEN!!!
