Personally...I think "Bammer" is relegated to "spoiler" unless and until they prove otherwise...by beating Texas. I see Texas testing...and, beating Bama...convincingly. All hell could break loose in Tuscaloosa this year with "Saban-Retirement" and "Has he lost it" talk.

Bama is actually 1...if not 2 years away from having a real contender. Saban just needs to hang on and not let the wheels fly off, while they rebuild. All this "hype" and these "high expectations" are not helping his cause one bit.

That 9 5* class are freshman. He has another top 5 class this year. Can he get a quarterback to put it all together. Not sure. Hope not.

Yeah...they're not done causing problems for Kirby & Company. Unless, Saban really has "lost it". Meaning he's lost the drive and desire that took him to places no other CFB HC has been.

It's not easy for anybody...including Nick Saban...to maintain that level of focus and intensity without a break. He may be taking his break, now. OR...he may be preparing to turn the team over to a younger and hungrier "set of hands", with a clipboard and whistle.

If that's the case.. he darn sure ain't leavin' the cupboard bare. I just wonder if he already has his eye on somebody to take over "The Program".

I don't think Saban is done unfortunately. He relies on his assistants more and if they don't work out like the last couple of years then they miss the playoffs. There has been a dropoff with the line play and that is probably the biggest difference in my opinion. The wrs (hello Burton) haven't been quite as spectacular (half a notch dropoff) and the rbs not quite as great.

The run of wrs, linemen, and rbs they had for awhile there was truly out of this world. 3 first round qbs, 3 heisman trophy winners, just unreal.

So yes they have taken a step back but they are still our biggest competition and we will have to play our best to beat them. They will have talent for the next 3-4 years and are loaded so I would never count them out.

I would say we SHOULD be the better team this year but that doesn't mean if we don't play our best game and meet them in the SECCG that we couldn't lose to them. We most certainly could.

Regardless, we SHOULD be the better team.

Now as for 2024 we lose 8-10 defensive and offensive linemen and have to replace all that experience. I think 2024 is going to be our biggest test playing at Texas and Alabama. We have some talented guys coming in but they will be FRESHMAN. Freshman are rarely ready to battle with 21 and 22 year old full grown men. This becomes pretty obvious in the trenches.

So, I think we lose a couple in 2024 and probably lose at Tuscaloosa.

IMO...We haven't seen UGA's "Best" team yet, IMO. "That", is a year away. This year's team will be "Great" and win-it-all again.

But...in 2024-25 it's all going to come together in a way nobody is "willing to predict"...but, everybody that knows ball, can "see. Cause, if they did predict it, they'd be accused of being a Homer...or, worse yet...an idiot. Lol

UGA will become an NFL version of a College Football Team...and, unlike "The Saban Era"...that's not going to change, as long as there is a playoff and a transfer portal...and a Kirby Smart, Will Muschamp, Bryan McClendon or Mike Bobo to run "The Program".

Georgia still churns out some of the best HS football players in the Country. The Dawgs will always get their share. But, their recruiting reach has evolved since Richt took over...then Smart took it to another level. We're getting the best players from all over the Country and building good faith with some of the best HS Coaches in the Country.

The UGA Brand has finally overtaken The Alabama Brand...and that's what's been scaring the hell out of everybody for decades. They knew if UGA ever took it to this level, there was no going back.

That's why the Dawgs were always referred to as... "A Sleeping Giant".

Lol...Kirby Smart woke the ole boy up. Now...there's some Payback comin' for decades of disrespect.

I think this is our best team ever. EVER. If we lose I will be upset with the coaches mostly but we have too much talent to not win every game .... easily....

even the other suppossed great teams should not be able to keep up. Really no reason to not win em all going away.

Now in '24 we lose too many linemen and the schedule is so difficult that I expect us to lose 2 games in the regular season. Should we lose less than that I would be pleasantly surprised.

I expect 25 and 26 to be our best teams ever over this years team. By then the guys coming in next year plus this years Freshman will be in their 2-4th years of development. So the linemen will be big AND strong AND know their blocking assignments, etc. With the playoff we just need to not lose more than 2 games a year and we have a shot.

I can agree with '25. Riaola and that 5-star WR that's following him (supposed to commit soon), will be Sophmores...and the defense will be The Steelers. Lol

What a minute...Lol...let me clear this up....this year WILL be "UGA's Best team ever".

In 2024-25...your gonna witness "the best CFB Team" to ever take the field.

    There...did I clear it up?

BTW...the learning curve for an offensive lineman is nothing...a few games, maybe. So, the o-line doesn't concern me...especially with the talent we have stocked...and the ones comin' in.

I still think 24 is a rebuilding year. A lot of young guys, probably a new qb again (I expect Beck to go pro). Lots of freshman linemen who aren't quite ready and strong enough.

25 will be a new qb year again but all the pieces around him will be 2nd or 3rd year guys.

26 should be our greatest team with an experienced qb.

So I expect between this year and the next 3 we win 2 of the 4 years. That's my prediction but things change and we probably have half our coaching staff turnover by 26 so a lot of unknowns.

Sounds pretty good to me. You worried? I'm already looking ahead at playoff venues. Lolol

BTW...with the defense Smart is putting together...and, that's really where most of my attention goes...who do you see, scoring 10 points or more on em in '24 &' 25?

This year...I expect a lot of subbing... In the secondary and o-line, in particular. A lot of the guys that are gonna play on the o-line in '24 &'25 will get significant playing time, THIS year. You'll have a good idea of just how good the '24 o-line will be, by the SECCG.

The good news is,, I don't expect a drop-off in pass blocking at all. In fact, it may even be improved, if that's possible. Did you get a load of the "Trench Monsters" they've been bringing in? That's why...pass blocking. Set up a wall for Stockton, BVG or Raiola.

The way I see it...you aren't gonna beat em...unless you can match up against their very "Deep & Talented" defense. I don't see "anybody" remotely in the Dawgs neighborhood . Everybody's focused on the bright and shiny offense.

IMO...The Dawgs will be able to beat 90% of their opponents in '24-'25, on Defense, Spec Teams, and Running game alone. You throw an effective passing offense in there, and you create enough separation to use most of your "in-season" games as training events...like the G-Day game.

That's a pretty sweet position to be in, for any team. I think Smart and Company have proven they are more than capable of handling the egos associated with some of these talented "prima donna's" coming out of high school. Not to mention their ability to stack talent like a Major League Baseball team.

Everybody knows...you need pitching to win in the postseason. And...you can't win the postseason in any football venue without defense, special teams, a running game...and a little luck (for most teams).

The Dawgs are good enough to outplay "bad luck", "bad commentary, and "bad officiating"...which is necessary, if you're gonna flip the National picture. The rest of CFB is starting to get it..."Resistance is futile". Lol
