I sort of sensed this might happen. Several players had career years last season. Hard for any one player to duplicate a career year, let along 3 or 4 or 5 guys.
Great call, I've discussed this topic with other Braves fans throughout the season so far. We really do miss those two coaches. It exposes Snitker's apathy too much without them around.
At least I am not paying to watch.
I guess I don't see Snit as "apathetic" at all. To me is just even tempered - never too high nor too low.. which is a good thing in a long season like MLB.
It’s easy to think this. But Snit wasn’t always so “even tempered”. He used to be a fiery, no nonsense guy as a minor league manager. That guy is now retired. And now, he not only doesn’t fire up the team, but he actually makes defensive coaching decisions that cost us games. If there was a WAR stat for managers, Snit would be in the negatives.
I like Snit as a person very much. Same as Bobby. But one World Series every 25 years or so is what you get with that approach.
I am, haha. MLB Braves Package. It went up this season too.
I have mlb.tv as part of T-Mobile phone, I watch parts of some games next day. It is kind of like when I was a kid and got yesterday game scores in afternoon paper. Only now you have video and already know the score.
Love them, but AA needs to get them some help. Shut out by the worst team in MLB. Not good
Excellent effort by Sale goes for naught. What a shame.
Think you can ever have enough pitching? The Braves sure don't. They took 9 pitchers in their first 10 picks. The other was a catcher. Guess they needed someone to catch all those arms.
GO BRAVES!!!
And the hits continue. Ozzie out for 8 weeks - basically the rest of the season - with a fractured wrist. Hard to fathom the # of injuries the Bravos have racked up this year. The baseball gods must want Braves fans to suffer after last year's historic offensive output. A shame. Forgot to mention Fried is also out for at least a couple of weeks. Crazy.
Plus, we have no depth, five starters hitting. 175 - .220, just real unfortunate all the way around. If the team makes the playoffs, it'll be a miracle. Go Braves, still a big fan.
That injury to Albies was a totally fluke play. I just saw the replay on the news. It looked like he broke his wrist when he contacted the shoulder of a sliding Cardinals baserunner. Really unfortunate.
Edit: After a throwing error by the catcher on a stolen base attempt, no less.
With a man on third……
