Good point, if Riley goes on IL (God forbid), they won't have to make a move. Also encouraged by Lauriano recently..
Tough order. They are throwing Z Wheeler in the series opener. TBD is pitching for the Bravos. Maybe some home cooking and sleeping in one's own bed will help.
The next two weeks we find out if the Braves are a playoff contender or not.
Ole TBD needs to really come through this time.
I thought we'd see Smith-Shawver back for some starts by now.
Well Riley is done…
@donniem. Oh no. Not that guy. Zach Wheeler. Even though we beat the Phillies in game 2 of the 2023 playoffs, he was dominant in that game. 3 runs, but 2 earned and 10 k's in 6.1 innings of work.
It's payback time.
It will be interesting to see the line up tomorrow with Riles unavailable. There's talk about bringing Guillorme back after he was DFA'd by Mr. Washington. Veteran presence is important this time of year and he could be an asset in that regard. Wheeler needs to get banged around tomorrow. Olson and Murphy need to step up and take care of business the rest of the way.
Losing Riley for possibly two months is devastating. If it wasn’t for bad luck, wouldn’t have no luck at all.
NO MATTER WHAT???
GO BRAVES BABY!!!! GO BRAVES!!!!!
GO BRAVES!!!!
COME ON BRAVOS!!!!
Braves podcast mentioned the possibility of bringing up Yuli Gurriel who is still tearing it up at Gwinnett. 1B/3B who was an all star and dominating post season player for the Astros.
I must have missed the downfall of Yuli. How did he end up in the minor leagues?
His game regressed big-time, but, he's a vet and who knows, perhaps he still has some gas left in the tank. 2025 would be a good year for the Bravos to bounce back. I'm all out of hopium for them after Riley's injury.
40 years old. Played with Marlins last year and stats dropped some Batting .300, 380 OBP, near .900 OPS, and 12 stolen bases at Braves AAA club.
Kind of like Adam Duvall in 2020?
