Braves with a one game lead now over those “lousy, stinking Mets”!!!!

Win tomorrow and we may not have to play Monday!

Sales can start the wild card series!

What an incredible job by R. Lopez - 6 innings of 1 run, 2 hit baseball - first time back on the bump in a good minute. As bdw said, D'Arnaud with a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th. Snit pulling the strings pretty good, as Murph had a good game last night and yet he played D'Arnaud - not sure if it was great scouting or just his "gut" - but it worked for sure tonight.

If we win tomorrow and the Mets lose I think we don't have to play the DH on Monday.

Will be interesting to see if he goes with Sale tomorrow since a win isn't necessarily playoff spot clinching if the Mets do win tomorrow.

Padres and Dbacks are tied 0-0 middle of the seventh…

    Go Padres!

If you get a chance, go to the Braves website, braves, com and check out the video of Lopez' 9 strikeouts. I think he got all of them on his slider. It looked like he was throwing a whiffle ball out there. Amazing!!

Dbacks lose 5-0. Thank you, Braves Lopez, and d'Arnaud. Braves need one to clinch but let's win all of them. 😎

Atlanta can clinch a postseason berth with either a win over the Royals on Sunday, or a D-backs loss to the Padres.

    🤞

I'm glad the D-backs are playing the Padres. I'm nervous about Morton on the bump today. He's been up and down this season - hoping this is an "up" game. Since this is a game to clinch a playoff spot, I'm wondering why Snit made this choice. He might be looking to start Sale the first game of the playoffs - but only IF we make it. Hopefully our bats will wake up some. We've not been getting tons of hits in the past two games, although some of our low # of hits have been very timely.

I hate to say this but I would rather get the last WC spot and play the Brewers rather than the second spot and get the Padres. Seems like an easier path to advance.

But at this point you keep pushing and take any spot you can get.

After 4 innings, Bravos down 4-1. Only have 3 hits in the game. Morton not all that sharp. Has give up two HRs already. Hate to depend on other teams, but go Padres.

Worst possible outcome - Braves lose and Mets and Diamondbacks both win. Crapola. As ole EB used to say - great day. Let's play two.

Right…..if the Braves split tomorrow, then both the Braves and “those lousy, stinking Mets” both make the Wild Card and the Diamondbacks are eliminated.

If either team sweeps then the loser is eliminated and the winner and the Diamondbacks are in.

All we need is one win tomorrow!

    Go Braves!

Snit says he is starting Schwellenbach the first game and Sales the second….

Bet he changes his mind if we win the first!

    Go Braves!

If Braves and Mets split the DH both get in so I expect Sale to pitch Game 2 if a win is needed else he will be kept to start game 1 of the Division series. I actually wanted Mets to win today to be in that scenario as if Mets had lost they would need both to get in making them even more focused in both. I really wanted the Mets to win and D'Backs to lose in which case tomorrow's games would be unnecessary. At least now whoever wins G1 have little to play for in G2 other than who they play in 1st round and likely keep their best available pitcher and key hitters rested for the playoffs.

So…if both the Braves and Mets get in, Braves will have the tie-breaker. Will that mean the Braves get the Brewers and the Met's get the Padres?
