I also love it when Atlanta, GEORGIA is the at center of the world of all of Major League Baseball!!!
GO BRAVES!!!
67 games left in the season. Last year they made the playoffs with 89 wins. To get there they would need to go 47-20 down the stretch. That is .700 baseball which is dang near impossible.
So you're saying there's a chance….
No guarantee 89 wins gets you in either.
So for me the second half will be sort of a reverse magic number. 20. Every loss subtracts one from that total. We all already know it's over this year but when that number gets to zero it's over for sure.
Yep. IMHO it's pretty much over. With limited pitching and much too sporadic offense, definitely can't see them getting to 89 wins. Let young prospects get a cup of coffee and see who/what develops.
Sad truths.. but it’s always going to be OUR TEAM!!! Go Braves!!!!
GO BRAVES!!!
After 3 complete innings, braves are up 6-0. At this rate we will win 15-0, since we won't bat in the bottom of the 9th!!
YAY!!!! The Atlanta Braves winning anytime, is just GREAT!!! Beating the New York Yankees 7-3??? THAT IS EVEN BETTER!!!! GO BRAVES!!!
GO BRAVES!!!
Strider and his slider seem to be back in working order. For one game, at least, the bats were awake. Glad to see Albies add something to the mix. They can use his help!!
I give up. Maybe. Albies heating up and Harris showing a pulse. If….well, you know…
This team just can't seem to hold a lead. Leads of 5-0 and 7-2 didn't matter.
Middle reliever De Los Santos with a poor performance. 3 hits and a walk giving up 4 runs (3 earned) with no recorded outs in the 6th enabling the Yankees to get back within one 7-6 and eventually winning 12-9. Thanks to a grand slam in the 9th.
This is a really tough Atlanta Braves baseball season. This reminds me of my own childhood when growing up in the mid 1970s, it seemed that everyone beat Atlanta in the dual-use Fulton County Stadium that the Atlanta Braves shared with the Atlanta Falcons. Watching Phil Neikro and the Braves lose all the time during the summer, followed by watching Steve Bartkowski and the Falcons lose all the time there in the fall.
Thank Goodness for the Braves of 1990s, and Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz!!!
They helped Atlanta so much to get past the stigma of Atlanta never wins … they sure did!!! GO BRAVES!!!
And Glavine was horrible in 1990, and Smoltz was dealing with psychological challenges early on as well. Who would have thought then they were a pair of Hall of Famers in the making at that time?!
Not many!!
I love, love, LOVE THE ATLANTA BRAVES!!! Almost as much, (but not quite) as I TRULY DO LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE GEORGIA BULLDOGS!!! GO BRAVES!!! GO DAWGS!!!
GO BRAVES!!! GO DAWGS!!!
That's one of the strangest starts to a ball game I've ever heard of. Bottom of the first, Braves down 1-0. Birdsong pitching for the Giants. Walk, wild pitch, runner moves to second, walk, walk, bases clearing double, walk, hbp, strikeout, strikeout, single, two more runs scored, fly out. Braves lead 5-1 after one on the way to a 9-5 win.
Birdsong charged with 5 earned runs and 0 outs. Crazy.
