The good news is we can start a new winning streak today!!
How do you like them apples? Swept a DH and the offense was producing in both games. Great start by young Waldrep in the opener - promising. "rake" continues his streak of RBIs. What a great find he is. Could they possibly make it 3 in a row tomorrow?
GO BRAVES!!!
And if Fedde could learn how to keep a 1 to-2 run inning from turning into a 3 or more run inning, we might be onto another quality starter. Seems I recall Tom Glavine having these issues early in his career.
Unfortunately, this is not early in Fedde's career. But…the offense has certainly come alive. Harris is now hitting above .240 and with some power. Ozuna seems healthy again - maybe we will be glad we didn't trade him? Joey Wentz continues to show promise on the mound. Clearly, we are the best team in MLB with a horrible record.
He's about the age Charlie Morton was when he turned it around. He’s a former first round pick (#18) and was really heating up last year before being traded back to the national league.
Just have noticed that Fedde seems to pitch a lot of zeros and then has that one inning that unravels for us.
Me too. That one inning just gets away from him. Wish I knew how to fix that. I do like the work that Wentz and Waldrep are doing. Promise for the future. Doesn't seem like Ozzie can do it anymore. Don't know if all of those injuries are catching up to him. Big decision looming on him.
Well, the Braves did not lose last night, but they didn’t win either - they had the day off.
They play again today at the New York Mets. GO BRAVES!!!
In my own head, I can still hear the voice of Skip Caray screaming it out on WTBS - "BRAVES WIN!!!!"
GO BRAVES!!!
PS - Just like the late GREAT Larry Munson, the Atlanta Braves voice that I remember the most was Skip Caray!
I didn't like his voice - seemed to me he was alwys eating and talking with his mouthful. An icon, though. I guess.
What a comeback by the lads. Down 6-0 after two, they hit and pitched their way out of it. Good team effort. Not sure where that was for the first 100 games or so.
You’re probably right.
i always preferred Pete Van Wieren too
The professor!!
