Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
I would imagine the price would be higher for a division rival. I don't know enough about the Braves system to comment, but I would say the mets are looking for... SP who is on the cusp, therefore under team control. Can be that 3-4 guy next year with a 2-3 ceiling Middle infield/CF stud who will play right away 2… -

There are some really bad bullpens in MLB this year. Glad our trading deadline pickups are pitching so good now, we have one of the deepest bullpens in the National League. Nats pen gave up 5 in the ninth, only to be topped by the Mets pen giving up 7 in the bottom of the inning while only recording 1 out. Huge comeback… -

You are spot on about the Cardinals hitting the ball in the right places. I can't recall ever seeing so many balls hit within 1-2 of the foul lines with basically every one of them being fair. Just uncanny. They had to have at least 4 doubles in this series that were little flares just over 3rd or 1st. Couple that with… -

I edited right away wise arse. Anyway. Houston now has 1, Justin Verlander - 2.73 ERA 0.81 WHIP 2A. Gerrit Cole - 2.94 ERA 1.00 WHIP 2B - Zack Greinke 2.87 ERA 0.94 WHIP 4 - Wade Miley 3.06 ERA 1.12 WHIP Three aces and a top level number 2. Liberty was never going to allow a high dollar move like signing Greinke. -

I'll admit that I was wrong, because I was steamed that we didn't sign Kimbrel earlier this year. Thank God I'm not running things, because he has been nothing short of terrible. After the Cubs cut the division lead to 2 games last week, they've since lost 6 straight and 5 straight by 1 run. Kimbrel on the season has blown… -

The bottom line with Diaz as far as I'm concerned is, he has closed a lot of games and only blown a few saves over the past 2 years. I'll be tickled if he averages 4 bad outings to 41 very good outings if we sign him. After all, if you lose by 10 runs or 1 run it still only cost 1 game. If you lose 10 games by 1 run, you… -

FYI Waters is #1 on Baseball America's Hot Sheet which rates the best week of all minor leaguers that was released yesterday. He had a .444 Ba, .459 OBP slugged .722 for a 1181 OPS he had 4 2B, 2 HR and 7 RBI for the week. Not bad for a 20 year old. Pache in center, Waters in LF and Acuna in RF. That could make the best… -

With tonight's win and Washington's loss we're 6 up. If we go just 18-17 the rest of the way DC will have to go 25-12 to tie us. If we go 20-15 it's a near certainty we win The East. We do have a tough schedule coming up after this series, but we've won series against The Twins, The Mets and The Dodgers over the past… -

So Folty and Soroka are going in Game 2 and Game 3, respectively. Not kidding, a Top 3 story of the season could be Folty's miraculous turnaround if he is indeed effective in the NLDS. His ERA ballooned to 6.37 (!) after his 11th start of the season on June 22 against the Nationals when he coughed up 8 earned runs in just… -

WC, I don't think anybody is in suspense wondering if Riley can keep this pace up. I admit he won't keep up this same pace, still the pace is a lot more productive than Josh at almost a 1/4 of the games played. My question though was you think it has come to Snitker's mind to do this change? I think it has and he may give…
