Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
I think we can now conclude the team is in a bit of a hitting slump. It's only scored more than 3 runs once in the past 6 games and has just 2 runs over the past 2 games. Swanson's return might end up being a net minus. He looked weak both hitting and in the field tonight. We all know how bad he can be hitting when he's… -

The thing is we can actually quantify “luck” pretty well. Based on how hard a ball is hit and it’s launch angle, we can look into past data and see how often those hits are singles, doubles, homers, outs etc. this way of viewing results does not account for defense (who is playing 3rd in your example or how deep he is… -

Would you look at that. One of my comments was vindicated tonight. I said that the Phillies were sitting on Soroka sinkers 22 days ago and it was not necessarily just him being off. Well guess what…McCann and Soroka agreed with me instead of going with the idea of his sinker is fine if he locates it and he just had poor… -

Editing is tricky with my laptop and Windows 10, It seems to not be working At all with this android tablet so I'll add this that I would have preferred to edit into my last post. I do still appreciate greatness. I follow Houston and The Dodgers enough to believe they've had the 2 best rosters over the past 4 years. The… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
OK, let's update what is needed to win the division. If we play .500 ball the rest of the way (23-23) Washington would have to go 30-18 to tie us. Philly would have to go 32-16 to tie us. The Metros would have to go 32-15 to tie us. If we win just 4 more than we lose 25-21 Washington would have to go 32-16 to tie. Philly… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
I mean if we take soroka out of the equation, would you pick any of the Braves starters over any of their top 4? Wheeler is a legit stud when he is healthy, he just has had issues with health. Same with syndeguard who isn’t what we hoped he may be in 2016, but still a legitimate #2 type guy with upside to dominate if he… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
piss poor managing and the obvious need of a closer keeps rearing it’s **** head. Soroka should have gotten multiple starts instead of the “World Series veteran” there’s a time and place for him. It’s advice and talking to the better pitchers throughout the game and not out on the mound burying any chance we have. Hope the… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
@AnotherDawg Benching acuna would be dumb he is our best player. This is just a thing his team mates need to take care of, and Freddie has already addressed it. And idk about pulling Fried being modern. We see teams in the playoffs use super receivers multiple innings a lot these days. I’m forgetting the guys name on… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
...the fact of the matter is we've found out that base hits are not simply just base hits, like your muh muh old school eye test says. There are non-legitimate base hits to us younger people. Like that weak grounder by Cruz to no man's land, or another jam shot single in that inning, or that jam shot in the 9th. 4 of those… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
You'd think there would have been far more than 100 9 pitch 3 strike out innings in the 150 or so years of MLB. To put it in perspective there have been 302 no hitters in MLB history. Alright, the last series The Braves lost was a 2 gamer against KC July 23/24. Since then the team has 10 series wins and 3 ties. This series…
