Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Re: COVID-19 Check-in
Good news out of China tonight: https://www.businessinsider.com/china-no-new-local-coronavirus-cases-first-time-during-outbreak-2020-3 I think Covid19 spread a lot farther in the US before we started dealing with it than in China and the US probably won't get Covid19 under control as fast as China did (unless Mother Nature… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in
What you're saying correlates directly to the controversial article I posted the other day. To rehash, the author suggested decision makers are primarily focusing on the # of confirmed cases, rather than # of hospitalizations, # admitted to ICU and mortality rate. In his opinion, based on the last three measurements it's… -

Re: COVID-19 Check-in
Trying to upbeat about COVID-19. Two pieces of news I read in the last 24 hours. While in self distancing mode at 77. Part 1 First and most important. https://wattsupwiththat.com/2020/03/17/an-effective-treatment-for-coronavirus-covid-19-has-been-found-in-a-common-anti-malarial-drug/ Encouraging news: a new medical study… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in
Comparing COVID-19 to WWII seems a little much, no? In WWII we knew what our enemy was, we knew we had to crank out war machines, and we won by shear force. None of that applies to COVID-19. Hell, we don't even know what exactly it is we are fighting, and while it is certainly deserving of our attention and focus it isn't… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in
Bangers, just adding to why I think D levels are critical. Indonesia did a study (still being reviewed) that measured the D levels of 780 CV 19 patients who were hospitalized with serious CV 19 disease. Those with higher levels survived much better than those who were deficient. The Endocrine Society guidelines define D… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in
I was watching a pastor being interviewed on the national TV news yesterday, and he is somewhere in Louisiana, and he also just “doesn’t get it” about covid-19, and prevention through social distancing. He’s having services being held with large gatherings physically at their church. I’m really praying for his congregation… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in
Familiarity or lack thereof drives behavior. No one fears the flu because it’s a familiar name. It’s not front page news when the flu claims a life as it claims 50K annually. We’re desensitized from the flu. COVID-19 is not so familiar and we’re relying on other country’s case studies which may not be transparent. They… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in
@CaliforniaDawg My family and I are still alive and kicking down here in San Diego. I suppose we are in for quite a long haul as it relates to the news of the last few weeks/months in the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic. Many blessings to any, and all who read these words in this post, because that means you are still here!!!… -
Re: COVID-19 Check-in
For those who didn't click on the link, it reveals that at least 75% of the CV-19 fatalities in NYC involve people with serious pre-existing conditions, like diabetes, lung disease, or cancer. 5891 people out of 7890 cases. Only 0.5% of fatalities involved someone who was confirmed to have no pre-existing condition. 42…
