woodford is solid but eagle rare is fantastic! $35 bottle that is now $50 and still a great deal
you have a top notch 3!
@Georgiafan what about my post on bourbon, in the off topic section, did you not like?
eagle rare, weller and buffalo trace are three of the best on the cheaper end
black market shows all 3 could raise their prices and still sell out
I would take a glass after today’s debacle which includes this site
Rye is my favorite too, ever tried Bulleit rye? It’s about the price of makers and really good for said price point.
I am a scotch fella myself.
Glenfiddich 18 is a nice bang for the buck. Lagavulin is a great change up with the smokey taste.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label gets a lot of attention but I am not much on the blend at that price.
Gonna use some of yalls advice and dive into a bourbon.
Where do you get your Blantons?
Same here. I greatly prefer scotch to bourbon, and I love Glenfiddich 18 (and 12 for that matter).
I generally prefer single malts to blends but I have to say Johnnie Walker Blue is one of the best drinks I've ever had, along with Midleton (Irish whiskey), Chateau d'Yquem (Bordeaux/Sauternes), Warre's (vintage port), Veuve Clicquot Grande Dame (champagne), and Tres-Quatro-Cinco (tequila).
I haven't had Lagavulin, so I will make a point to try that, and thanks for the tip. I am also taking notes on all of these posts so I can sample a few of the recommended bourbons. (Thanks for the thread @tfk_fanboy.)
I am on a waiting list for when it comes in at most local stores. I will also purchase off the secondary market from time to time. Typical price for me has been around 65 dollars for a bottle of blantons
ive also had blantons gold and blantons straight from the barrel
Glad to help....and I have some good starting points from your list. Gonna be a good month :)
Love ththe Bourbon discussion. I opened my bottle of Rip last Friday and was unimpressed. I prefer Buffalo Trace to be honest.
Thr next Buffalo Trace drops happen in March. Blantons, EH Taylor and Barrel Select bottles of BT and Eagle Rare will all be back out.
I also have two of the antique colection BY bottles from 2018 I'm excited to try.
Just saw this and had to share. Likely too pricy for me but want it for the bottle alone.
