National Peanut Butter Lover's Day

Do any of you older Dawgs recall the SNL skit when "Dr. George Washington Carver" was experimenting with the peanut in his lab and before discovering peanut butter he tried various uses including using the peanut as a needle in a phonograph? I do love peanut butter and we've had discussions already about how to properly construct a PB sammich.

I believe today is the busiest National Day I've come across so far...in addition to National Peanut Butter Lover's Day, it's also a day to remember:

National Speech and Debate Education Day. Debate now seems weird to me. The debaters all talk so fast - it's like who can get the most words in and less about the ideas that are presented.

National Horse Protection Day, Who doesn't love a good mustang - like Hidalgo.

National Fruit Compote Day, Didn't bother to read the blurb so I don't even know what fruit compote is.

National Minnesota Day, I do love lakes.

National Dadgum That's Good Day,

National Dress in Blue Day (ugh! at least it's not dress in blue and orange day),

National Employee Appreciation Day. A great day to say thanks to the janitors and maintenance folks where I coach.

National Read ~Across America Day (Dr. Seuss Day). We used to go read to elementary school kids every year when I coached in college. They really seeemed to enjoy it and I thought it a worthwhile endeavor.

National Pig Day

I must mention that I am grateful to pigs everywhere who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of wonderful BBQ.
