Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

That makes two from cedartown.
Currently reside in McIntosh, FL - about 15 minutes south of the Swamp in Gainesville, FL.
Although I wouldn't rate myself as a "good" musician , I do play in a little band with other retirees and play some guitar, dobro, banjo, accordion. Am about to get a dream banjo from Huber banjos in a few months.
I also do a pretty good job of coaching cross country and distance events in track. Got 5 kids to the state meet in track this year and got a team to state in cross country in the fall.
I like this thread - learning about other members.

Tdub - i resided in Carrollton from 1981 until 2006, while teaching/coaching at UWG. Have visited a few times since then and can barely find my way around. It has grown so much...lots more to to in terms of shopping, eating out, etc. I'm speculating on learning some bass since the bassists in our band seem reluctant to learn anything other than a standard bluegrass beat. It's a bit of a shame since our singers can do other types of songs but the feeling for the song disappears w/o a good bass line.
Evans, GA and I excel at loosing golf balls as well!!

2) The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.
Yeah, I'm a semi-retired musician... lol
Spent many of late nights out at bars/clubs in my early 20's through my late 30's. I'm 46 now and just enjoy jamming at a friends/bandmate's house/studio on the occasion. We still write and record sometimes but that life just about got the best of me. We played hard rock/metal back then and I listen to more country these days. I do still like to listen to some of the older bands that I was into back then though. Next time you swing through, hit me up and we'll go have a brew. Here's a couple of tracks we wrote and recorded plus our version of Boyz in the Hood By NWA... lol
and a Doors cover.....
