Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Naw. It piqued my interested too. Then came the deep fear of the double cross--I click and it would be all man boob shots...*shudder*
Some of the “gifted column writers” aren’t so gifted. I remember back in the day when “journalists” used proper grammar and knew the English language.
It's harmless, but nonetheless embarrassing in a hilarious way.
I also remember when newspapers could afford copy writers
24/7 news media has also created an environment of "if you're not first, you're last" which incentivizes publishing as much as you can as fast as possible. Combine this with a lack of editors, and you are bound to have mistakes.
A few papers The NY Times and The Washington Post being 2 obvious examples still write quite a few long, well considered and expertly edited articles. Most are spread too thin from one personnel purge after another over the past 15 years though. One thing the internet has debunked is the old adage that a million monkeys hitting keyboards for a million hours will produce Shakespeare level writing, it just produces mountains of disposable type for the most part.
I'm more worried about the death of local journalism. Large, corporate journalism will likely always survive.
I didn’t go there initially but after reading this post went down a Kat Jennings gif rabbit hole for a few minutes, so thank you

If there are guys posting who control the board or dominate the conversation I am unaware of them.
According to my understanding we're supposed to behave like gentlemen and ladies, but I don't think that means not disagreeing as much as it means making some effort to avoid being disagreeable.
There is value I think in considering what the OP says and in applying the yardstick to
ourmy posts before I hit the post comment button.Folks new to this board are welcomed by most of us. Their point of view may be exactly the one which makes us see things more clearly or it might give us a chuckle, but, either way we all started as newbies.
We are all equally entitled to being wrong.
Go, Dawgs!
Agreed. I’ve indirectly been referred to as a carpetbagger who only casually follows the team from afar, thus, lacks true Dawg knowledge.
Pfft! I’ve been in love with this team since Rex Robinson was kickin and I still am. Besides, you know what they say about opinions.
God bless you and don’t let those individuals keep you from something you enjoy.
I wasn't really a football fan or sports fan in general till junior high school. I was a fan of Live Atlanta Wrestling and we stayed out playing baseball till dark on many summer evenings, but following team sports wasn't my thing. Once I became a fan I was all in though. With the exception of a 5 year period in the late 90s where I spent all my free time in the western wilderness doing photography, skiing climbing and such, I've followed and watched the team almost every game.
My thinking is, what's it to em ? Nobody can define me as a fan except me.
Absolutely.
