Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Somebody doesn't know her geography. I'll let y'all guess which state doesn't belong.
In fariness - Kevin Warren's son is playing football in Mississippi 🤣
Maybe it was a troll for Kevin Warrens son at MSU lol.
At least all 57 states now get to play!
I don't see how winning 8 games is better than a team from another conference who went 9-1 in their regular season. To be fair the committee would have to look at the number of wins in that case. And if you factor in SOS, how could the Big Ten compete for a playoff spot even if they sweep and go 9-0?
Tha PAC12...
Rather than Fields opting out, now his OSU teammates (Wade and Davis) that previously opted-out are back in.
Still feeling confident that Fields will opt out??
At this rate, only player that will end up opting out for 2020 will be Newman.
At least the Big 10 players continued practicing.
Chip Kelly didn't even have access to his facility until recently.
I can almost guarantee you that many PAC 12 players had checked out.
Getting these players physically ready to play in 6 weeks is RIDICULOUS and dangerous.
As a parent.....I "believe" I would be against it for my son. It would depend on many factors.
My question is......did these conferences really choose to not play because of health concerns? Or was it something else? What has really changed in the last few weeks with Covid to suggest to them that it is safe enough?
If it really was because of health concerns......what the PAC 12 is proposing....may be significantly more dangerous than Covid.
Leading from the back...nice work pac 12
I can't wait to see the justification for letting an 8-0 Ohio St. team in over a 10-1 UGA or Bama. I could easily see us splitting the matchups after otherwise running the table. What do they do at that point?
Clemson 11-0
Oklahoma 11-0
UGA 10-1
Bama 10-1
Ohio St. 8-0 or 9-0
One of these things is not like the others.
it was always about the money. health issues just gave them a cover.
I would imagine Fields is still pondering, weighing the risk/reward of playing and not playing. I'm sure he wants to play, but is it smart to play...that sort of thing.
Ultimately, I think he will play because he knows with conference only, four less games, one less conference game he's got a pretty easy path to glory and playoffs. If he wants to hold off Trey Lance in next year's draft, he may need to play
It appears the Big 10 players actually want a season but many of the Presidents and Governors could care less. Their COVID protocols are almost designed to cripple the season and will no doubt cancel a few games at a minimum.
Meanwhile, the PAC12 desperately needs cash but the players and coaches are indifferent to getting on the field this year.
SEC/ACC/Big 12 will highlight the Big10/PAC12 indifference with recruits for the next 2-3 years.
Yes. As I mentioned before, in addition to those team reasons you list, there might also be a personal brand hit by opting-out (especially in light of his previous public display of wanting to play). 99% chance that he plays.
Don't know if it was just about the money.....but certainly agree that played a huge role.....and the hassle.
Agreed. As much schadenfruede I was going to relish by him not getting to play, apparently getting out from under his story wasn’t going to be so easy.
He certainly doesn’t have to play, his future is secured today no matter what, but I think he plays.
He may already have hired an agent. I would have if I were him. Why not start getting a little cash if you think you're not going to get to play anyway.
Money.....and a pinch of politics...
WOW. I live out here in San Diego, California. I wonder now if this will shortly lead to a PAC-12, six (06) game season?? Also, does this mean that the Mountain West Conference (which includes San Diego State) will possibly start up again with their potential fall season soon too???
Yea I figured that was implied. I disagree though. Money is the master all these universities serve.
I'm actually surprised how many B1G athletes who opted out are jumping back in.
There's even talk of Micah Parsons coming back even though he opted out before the conference officially cancelled the season originally.
