Thomson became a legend with that kick against Tenn
it’s funny that on our best games, my favorite Dawg doesn’t see the field. Congrats to Brett. He’s a great athlete and representative of UGA!
Brett is a wonder. I have to go back to the late 60s to find a DGD to compare him to. That would be John Amos (Spike) Jones from my familly's town of origin, Louisville, GA. Unfortunately for Spike, we had one year in which the Dogs (too early to receive the "Dawgs" moniker) faltered. But there was Spike. Our most reverberated cheer that season was :"Kick it, Spike, kick it!". Again, hats off to you, Brett, that we get your contributions to the Smart era which almost never falters.
I was at that game also Tswood. I remember thinking “D*** that QB for Southern Miss is a beast. Favre almost beat us singlehanded. Congratulations Brett Thomson. You put the “special” in special teams. Hope you have a long & great career in the NFL! Go Dawgs!
Good for Thorson. Remember how there were mid-season questions about his productivity after his surgery?
…
Never had a doubt about the guy.
Great Job Brett!
I was pullin' for you. Maybe, next year...you'll make the vaunted "ALL-SEC 1st Team" [tic]. Lmao
See you in Philly or LA (Lol). Go get em kid!
heck people were questioning him during/after the Texas game. Last two games clearly show those short sky high punts were intentional.
Should have won the award four years in a row.
I love it that the SEC put him on the 2nd team. Kinda shows where they're coming from.
Go, Dawgs!
You think it's a dei thing? In other words....Not merit based?
If I understand your question, yes.
Go, Dawgs!
the guy who got first team was white just like Thorson…how is that DEI?
Not talkin' about race, if that's what you're getting at.
Talkin' about geography and money.
NOT merit based.
so Oklahoma is a coastal elite school?
Oklahoma is one of the ""chosen"....and, they're fairly new to the conference....with lots of oil money. It's a welcome aboard package, that ESPN can sink it's teeth in. Lol
Thorson is an Aussie playin' for us rednecks. Lol....I was in the military for 20 years...I know how "the coastal elite" think.
doesn’t sound like DEI to me then. Sounds like the rich blue bloods are getting one for them judging by your description.
